I love Riu properties. Riu Negril is Jamaica- One Love. The rooms are so comfortable. Our room had a partial Caribbean Sea view and I loved sitting on the balcony in the morning. Dining options were wonderful. I so enjoyed all the traditional Jamaican foods. The food from Jerk Hut on the beach was exceptional. There were more than adequate beach chairs for guests. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and well - trained. I’m already planning my next trip there.

Did not like the sea grass on bottom of the beach. Water did not appear clear do to it and you need water shoes for swimming. I was not able to see much while snorkeling. I would not stay at this resort again.

RIU was very nice, the sand on the beach was very clean and the water was crystal clear but the grassy parts on the ocean floor felt a little gross (can’t really do anything about that but get beach shoes). The dress code for dining was incredibly annoying because the resort is on the beach, all the dining is near the pool & beach areas & the rooms are crazy far. So to have to walk allllllllll the way back to your room because you just wore shorts & bikini on the beach was ridiculous. I would actually try another resort for that reason. And some of the staff go too hard for the dress code. But the property was very nice and the food was great. Also definitely bring bug repellent because the sand flies ate us up. The alcohol was very sub par. You’re better off making your own drinks in your room than getting them from the bar.

My best friend and I stayed from 3/9-3-13 for her birthday, so happy she enjoyed herself for the first time leaving the country especially at the RIU. She was scared to travel but was happy the RIU had so much entertainment, games, nice pool time with games, BINGO was her favorite then the night parties. While sitting at the pool, the party boat pulled up at the beach and she even wanted to do that. This my second time at the RIU and for the cost it was worth it. Now, the only problem I have with the RIU it definitely needs a bit of upgrading with rooms (towels, drainage in bathroom) and hallways (needs some painting). Overall your trip still be fun and entertaining. Oh yes, the food was great especially the Jerk hut. One recommendation to the hotel is to go back to reservation in special restaurants due people standing in a long line, not realizing you are going off a head count, so it takes away standing there for a long time just to be told no more room for seating. But still we enjoyed ourselves.

We were extremely disappointed with the alcohol at this resort. I would say without a doubt that it was NOT alcohol in the bottles but was water and for the rum....maybe some added food color. Might want to investigate what is happening at this resort with their alcohol. I would never return for this reason alone. We have been to many resorts in Jamaica and never encountered this issue anywhere else.

Greetings. I’ve stayed at other Riu resorts in Nigril and put a canna Dominican Republic. I let me say by far. This is the best kept an most rounded place I’ve been. Your staff was excellent and was the highlight of my stay. The ground is rail manicured and properly capped. Unfortunately, we still haven’t caught up with the harm plastics and other recyclable material can cause our environment. Rester, sure you’re not the only one. Hopefully there will be some progress in my next visit. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and the attentiveness of your staff.🙏
