A Palm Springs hidden gem

Posted Jul 6, 2014
This the perfect place to stay in Palm Springs if you're looking for a couples getaway. The pensione offers delicious complimentary breakfast and bikes you can use to get around town. The location is super central with restaurants and shops an easy 5 min walk away. The look is super romantic and makes you feel like you're in the middle of the Moroccan desert. I choose this place over a hotel like The Viceroy or Ace Hotel any day. My only two qualms are the hotel doesn't serve alcohol (although it's encouraged you bring your own, which is great) and the pool was just a touch too warm. Would have been perfect just a few degrees cooler. Especially after a very hot 4th of July weekend. Overall, Korakia is the way to go when in Palm Springs.

Quiet and romantic getaway.

Pros: Mediterranean style, staff, attention to detail, and location.
Cons: n/a
Location: The location is close enough to downtown
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We loved the Mediterranean style and relaxed feeling of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the attention to detail was amazing. The room was nice and clean, although the bathroom of our room was very small. The location is close enough to downtown. Overall we loved the place and will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Palm Springs.

Unique and Relevant

Pros: Clean bedding, rooms, bathrooms, unique property, mellow vibes, perfect exterior landscaping and furniture.
Location: Downtown Palm Springs within walking distance, 4 short blocks to the strip through one of the nicest neighborhoods in all of California.
Cool place to stay if you're a couple, writer, photog, or human. Staff is hip and cool without the hipster cool egos. Property is mature and perfectly aged, pools are clean and exterior furniture is comfortable. Rooms are very inspiring and welcoming.

Nice quiet getaway

I was so pleased with this Pensione..exactly what I was looking for. Quiet, private, and no TV in the room, gave me time to catch up on my reading. The room was comfortable and quaint (Byzantine), beautiful bathroom and spacious. I loved the tub! I loved watching a movie outside at 6:30..(Casablanca) was a bit chilly but I asked for coffee and a blanket and they brought it out for me :) breakfast was delicious and the grounds are gorgeous..Morrocan theme..just beautiful...overall I had a lovely, restful 2 nights..will DEFINITELY be returning!

Felt like a different time, never wanted to leave!

Pros: Atmosphere, views, fire pits, movie night on the wall, the luxe room service, decor.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Perfect to walk to everything downtown, though you won't want to leave.
I have never written a review. Ever. Honestly, I tend not to go back to a business if it was awful and I don't like bragging about my favorite spots so they don't fill up and raise prices. I am making my first exception. A native Southern Californian, even one that spent holidays in Palm Springs, even one that owns a home there, I had never heard of this hotel. For whatever reason, as luck would have it, I found it this time. From the minute you arrive, you feel as though you are transported back in time, in a VERY good way! Adults only makes this even better as the peace and tranquility along with the above par service, attention to detail and amazing FREE breakfast make this hidden gem one of my new favorite spots on the planet. I've been to Greece and Morocco and this place has me hooked. If you want iPod docks, the polished and sterile vibe of a Ritz or Four Seasons, this isn't the place for you. If you embrace the opportunity to have a truly restful and life-changing holiday, less than 2 hours from LA, this is the place for you. I plan on being a frequent guest. The manager of over ten years, Paulette, Liz, and everyone there on her team went above and beyond. Oh, and lastly, the main motivation for writing this review as the odd negative critique of the special hideaway gives me a good chuckle now that I have experienced first hand. One of the highlights... Room service is from an acclaimed French restaurant, they even send the chef to assemble to food! Priceless.
