OK placePosted Jun 20, 2013
Pros: The temperature control was nearly perfect.
Cons: A more thorough description of the hotel would have alerted us to the fact that there was no elevator.
Location: It wasn't precisely easy-on or easy-off the Interstate, but it was convenient to a Culvers
The desk clerk clearly couldn't have cared less if we stayed or not, and if it hadn't been so late we may not have stayed. There was no elevator, & the only ice machine was on the ground floor. The breakfast area was clean but not well stocked. The attendant was on a break or something, apparently. But! The desk clerk in the morning was a delight: cheerful, friendly, & efficient.

Americ Inn Austin MNPosted Oct 25, 2011
This hotel is OK. On the pro side: they let me check in early, which I needed to do. They offer a complementary hot breakfast that included eggs and sausages. The location is good, and the room was fine. The staff are very nice, friendly, and helpful. On the con side: the floors are COLD, the plumbing a bit awry (clogged sinks, toilets), sounds in other rooms could be easily heard in my room. And the eggs in the breakfast looked like eggs, but did not taste like eggs (yuck). I would say that this hotel is decent but not a 4 star place, by any means. Nonetheless, quite reaonable and somewhat better than I expected.

Nice ExperiencePosted Sep 20, 2011
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was nice and the whirlpool water was the best I have ever experienced. Not only was the whirlpool roomy but the water was perfect. Most whirlpool's water is so hot you can't remain it it for very long. This was just perfect.

Very NicePosted Mar 1, 2011
The desk clerk was a bit cool and uninviting, but everything else was great. Bathroom looked fresh & new'ish'. Pool area was super... and very relaxing. Nice that the pool area was open to adults for an extended later time. Breakfast was good, lots of selection... plenty to choose!! would certainly go again!!

COULD BE BETTERPosted Jun 9, 2010
The desk clerk was friendly and helpful but that did not explain why our reservation change was not found. Our room was not cleaned in between nites so the beds were not made and that meant the sheets came off during the nite and disturbed our sleep, hotel did take $10.00 off bill. We did get new soap and shampoo but no clean towels. The room could have been cleaner too. I found what looked like a vitamin E capsule on the floor in front of the nite table between the beds, thank goodness I didn't have small children who could have taken it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We stay here a couple times each year while visiting family and have had pretty good stays. The nites are usually quiet. Is it a rule that when it lightnings outside you need to get out of the indoor pool??? This happened our last nite---our kids were very disappointed and no one had heard that rule before.

Pleasant StayPosted Mar 31, 2010
We were traveling through Austin Mn. on the way to Wisconsin and found this Americinn to be a very comfortable place to rest. We have always found Americinn to be inexpensive, yet clean and comfortable. They are a good value.
