Our stay at the St. James Hotel was great. Highly recommend the river view rooms. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The "Scarlet Room" restaurant has great food and drinks, with attentive servers. The only issue was the sitting chair in the room had a broken arm rest, but i don't believe the management was aware of that.

Beautifully restored, maintained historic hotel. Had great restaurant and a separate bar with live music. Right in downtown area with many nearby shops and restaurants. Also free on site parking. Everything is super convenient and rooms spacious and very quiet (except for the occasional train going by, only lending to the charm). Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is 150 years old, while keeping it's ancestral roots it has been updated to relative modern standards. Everyone was helpful, restaurant & bars were great. We had a wonderful 4th of July stay!!

Love the charm of the hotel, old mixed well known with new. The shops, salon, restaurants and bars were amazing. I enjoyed our room except for the bathroom. No room for toiletries. The handles to turn the shower on were loose, I wasn’t sure if the hot water was going to turn on. The curtain rod was about to fall off the wall. Maybe get that screwed into the wall instead.

It was an ok hotel ..it should mention the train that comes through in middle of night 😬 it did have a beautiful view of the river..bed was comfortable..overall I would just say it was ok a little spendy and sadly no ghost sightings 😮 I guess I can say I’ve stayed there but probably won’t again
