good enough

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: staff, TV, beds, heating units
Cons: rooms, bathroom, carpets are showing their age.
Location: Rochester was fun-warm and friendly. Dinosaur bbQ was a great place to eat, and people should go see the High falls-just minutes from city center.
This was a quickly organized trip-no time to shop around, so I took the expedia offer for the hotel without checking. The hotel was well-located-middle of downtown, nice beds, TV, view. Great staff. Good parking-$4/day. The rooms and carpet show their age, but it was ok. I was disappointed about not having free Wifi. Staff warned me that the business center computers were slow, so I used the lobby one which was faster, but had only a small number of "free minutes" maybe 10--so I had to pay up for the extra 10 minutes I used. Overall, it worked out fine.

Some white dirts on black chair

I felt Hyatt room was not clean. My recent staying at Hyatt in New Orleans and Rochester provided me bad feeling.

Great location...amazing staff

Hotel is centrally located within walking distance of a number of excellent restaurants and attractions. Since the weather was great, we walked a lot, but there is a bus stop right at the hotel if the it's cold or rainy. What most impressed us was the friendly, helpful staff. Dallas gave us excellent advice for all of our questions. The Expedia deal was also great. For $20 over the base price, we received free parking, buffet breakfast, internet, and water bottles each day.

5 night stay

Cons: For the restaurant to serve lunch. There is a snack bar to purchase food from during lunch time.
Stayed at the Hyatt for a family wedding. Staff were very helpful and the rooms were a nice size and clean.

Hyatt stay 3/14 thru 3/16/14

Posted Mar 20, 2014
Pros: That it was quiet and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful at all times.
Cons: The d├ęcor. It seems a little dated.
Location: It would be helpful if the hotel provided a map of the area so that their guests could explore the downtown area.
We arrived early and were able to check into our room because it was ready. Everyone, especially Sean, was courteous, polite and helpful. The hotel was quiet even while the St. Patrick's Day festivities were going on. The wedding that we attended at the Hyatt was beautiful and everyone had a great time. We called for the airport shuttle when the plane landed and it arrived before we were able to get off the plane. On the return trip, they were waiting for us at exactly 9 am as I requested. Check-out took only a couple of minutes.

Great breakfast/fitness but thats it.

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Breakfast, fitness room.
Cons: Friendliness of staff, cleanliness of rooms.
Location: Great location - in downtown Rochester. Lots to do nearby. We went to Science Museum which was 4 minutes away.
The hotel wasn't that great - the lobby was nice but the room was kinda dirty and showed signs of obvious poor maintenance. The staff wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed that we had kids - and they weren't even being loud or bad in any way. The fitness room was the nicest I've ever seen at any hotel - very large, lots of machines, hot and cold towels, free weights and plenty more. The pool wasn't very great - a constant 4ft deep with a weird squishy bottom, and the hot tub was very shallow. The breakfast (included with our particular package) was fantastic. It had all the usuals, but also included things like salmon (for bagels), and lots of other things. It would have cost us $48 (w/o tip) had it not been included in our room package.

Probably The Best Hotel in Downtown Rochester

Posted Mar 11, 2014
Pros: Good downtown location.
Cons: Breakfast buffet not included.
Location: Near Strong Museum and Science Museum.
Stayed one night with family to be close to Strong Museum and Science Museum. No breakfast buffet included with room rate, and quoted price for breakfast was absurdly expensive. Unfortunately, there are no take-out restaurants nearby on the weekend that are open.

They make it easy!

The Hyatt Regency has a wonderful shuttle service not only to the airport, but also to Eastman School if music. They even provide practice rooms for their guests who are auditioning for Eastman! They help you with the logistics so you can concentrate on your music.
