Small room in the TenderloinPosted Aug 8, 2014
Room was really small and there was no air condition. The windows opened but only to an interior alley so there was no breeze. Cheapest hotel I could find at the time and I don't mind the semi-ghetto accommodations but if you are looking for a nice place to stay, this is not it.

Watch out when you leave the hotel.Posted Aug 3, 2014
Many people sleep on streets in the area. There are many awake, too. I felt tense to walk in the area. At the same time, I felt sad to think about the life of homeless.

The hotel was ok, but not the area.Posted Aug 2, 2014
Hotel was simple but clean. Personell was ok, esspecially Mark was very helpfull. Only it is situated in a bad neighborhood with addicts and vagrants. So it was pleasant to walk on the street at night.

Not worthPosted Jul 19, 2014
Cons: room condition.
the room is very samll for two beds. And the rest room is also old and narrow. The price is not cheap in terms of the quality of hotel which just benefits by its location (10 minutes to Civic Center by walk).

Regency InnPosted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, basic breakfast was adequate. Liked convenient location to transport and other areas.
Cons: More table and chairs in the breakfast area, it got a little crowded in the morning. Our bed mattress dipped a little in the middle. Parking expensive
Location: Very convenient location and cheap and good restaurants near by (only had chance to sample the Chinese, great food massive portions)
We chose the hotel based upon relatively cheap price compared to other hotels in San Fran, and close proximity to Union Square. Once there, we discovered that we were in the Tendorloin district which a number of people then warned us against however, a few tour guides and our own experience there made us think that this bad reputation is undeserved. Yes, there are homeless people there but they seem to keep themselves to themselves, don't harass you and I felt perfectly safe walking the short distance to Civic Centre (nice area) to pick up the city-sightseeing hop on hop off bus which I would thoroughly recommend. Also recommend a ride on the cable cars but get the one on California Street. For some reason, this route is empty and so you get to hang off the side. The other cable car routes are packed. Book Alcatraz tour as many weeks in advance as possible otherwise you won't get a ticket

The hotel is located in an area with a lot of homeless people. There are a lot of crazy frightening people on the street If you go east in the direction of union square, I wouldn't recommend to go there at night! The hotel room was very small and you have to know a trick to get the water in the shower running, but the stuff knows the problem, but doesn't tell you about it when you check, so you have to ask them how you get the water running... Our view out of the window was blocked from the next house wall. You can not park there and they charge you about 25$/day for valet parking.

StinkyPosted Jul 8, 2014
It was stinky like a bathroom from lobby to our room. Although I must say that the front desk was very accomodating.

Decent hotel right by bus stop.Posted Jul 6, 2014
The building is old, but clean. The old style elevator is small, but charming. The area is a little rough, as the homeless are prevalent. The bar across the street is a little loud, but the breeze is fabulous. Keep the windows open as long as possible. The area has mostly Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants, with Thai and Middle Eastern places as well. The original site stated free parking, but that is not true. Is cost us $35.00 a day for off-site parking. We had no problem leaving certain items in our room. When we accidentally left a cell phone on the bed, the housekeeping staff cleaned the room and placed it back on he bed. Nice!
