I understand most westerners have higher expectations on space, but that is a small price to pay when the quality of effort in Japan is excellence. The staff, facility, and amenities are worth the value. APA hotels are worth it. I advise all those visiting Japan and using the facilities that you "do not" measure these hotels prices as a measure of quality. Erase that opinion from your mind. This is Japan. They never fail to deliver excellent in their services.

Positive : The room was clean and comfortable. Negative : The biggest negative point is the staff cannot speak or understand English. They just keep repeating what you say so comunicating in english was a real problem. They provided free water only the first day, the next day i would have to pay. I was sick the day I arrived and the next day. I requested for some hot soup to be delivered to my room and they refused. Even to call a taxi to go to the airport they charged me JYen 500/- I was surprised. I am a world traveller been to 45 countries and stayed at 3* hotels to 5* hotels but never came across a hotel like APA. They dont make your stay enjoyable. There are no restaurants nearby. Being alone I was afraid to go out for dinner. The restaurant attached to the hotel has just 5 or 6 items on their menu. but their breakfast was good. Even to make a local call I was charged. I would definitely not recommend APA Hotel in Hatchobori, Tokyo. Japan was beautiful its only the lack of English speaking people that put my mood off.

First the positive: - Good location - Clean - Friendly staff - Comfortable bed Now the negative: - The room is ridiculously small. It is basically a closet with a bed in it. Think of the smallest cruise ship cabin you’ve ever seen and realize it is much smaller than that. There is not even enough room for your clothes. You need to hang your jackets on the wall. You need to keep your suitcase under the bed, and live out of it the whole trip. No dresser, no closet. The bathroom is the size of a phone booth. - Breakfast was terrible. The hotel is right next door to a Dennys. Do not pay the additional fee for breakfast, and eat better next door for the same price. - Did I mention how small the room is??? Do yourself a favor. Pay the extra money and stay at a real hotel.

Very nice hotel that worked well for me as a solo traveler. It was very easy to get to Akiharabara and Tokyo Station. The attached restaurant was very convenient.

This hotel was very clean and convenient as it is right outside of the Hatchobori station. The room size may be unfamiliarly small to foreigners so keep that in mind if you are above average in height or have a lot of large suitcases. Our favorite part about this hotel was the Airporter luggage pick up/drop off service, as it saved us 2 hours round trip from having to drop off our suitcases at Haneda airport ourselves. The breakfast of this hotel was also conveniently connected to the lobby but keep in mind, this APA hotel does not partner with the Denny’s nearby for breakfast. Some things that could’ve been better are that the AC unit wasn’t consistent and due to central heating, there were times where our room got too stuffy and we had not control over it. If this happens to you, open the bathroom door and let the fan run and it should help circulate the room better. The coin laundry was also convenient but the dryer function wasn’t very effective. Our clothes remained quite damp despite us adding an additional 30 minutes of drying time and the hotel room did not have much space for us to hang our clothes to air dry. Overall, this hotel is a great value when it comes to cleanliness and location.

Staff didn’t really know much/any English to accommodate for tourists and there’s only one elevator - with no stairs as an additional option. We had to wait up to 20 mins just for an elevator on some mornings.

Staying here was a good experience. The area doesn't have much to do, but you have easy access to Hatchobori station, and can get anywhere with a few easy train transfers. Only had 2 complaints. 1) You cannot control the AC in the room, and I was mildly uncomfortable at 77 F indoors. 2) There are only 2 washer/dryer machines for the whole hotel and they are used frequently. Aside from that, it was very clean and the staff was very nice. The rooms are small, but that was to be expected.
