“Hotel facility is excellent, but service needs to be improved”

There is no internet service at guest rooms, just WIFI in lobby, and very expensive($9 for 24 hours). What's worse is that the staff in the hotel is not familiar with the internet setup. Need more training and improvement.

“Still a great place to stay dispite a little dissatisfaction this time around.”

This is our 4th time at this hotel and we've always been happy with it. We do find that we can never get early check in, and b/c we travel with food, we choose to 'check in' our food bags at the front desk, which they accommodate with no issue, so that we can drive into Yosemite for the day with no Bear attacks on our car. We went Thanksgiving weekend this year, and once we checked into the room later in the eve, there was a pile of corn tortillas (not in a bag) sitting on top of the coffee pot, which, by the way, didn't appear to have been cleaned. Strange. Cleaners must have been in a hurry with the facility being full for Thanksgiving weekend. They were out of wash cloths so we were left with hand towels to bath with. Can live with this but not really ideal. Overall the room wasn't very clean. Left me to wonder if the beds had even been changed with such a rush. Was a little less impressed this time but none-the-less, we really like the hotel for its location, 20 min from the heart of Yosemite, restaurant on site, indoor pool/hot tub for year round activities for tweens, etc. It's nice to be able to park at your hotel at the end of the day whereas the hotel parking lots within the valley tend to get full with day visitors. We'll go back but hope the room is cleaner next time! Happy travels!

“could be better”

An affordable but not stellar choice. Some positives were 2 outdoor and 1indoor heated pools which were very nice after hiking all day. Hot tubs were steaming too! Restaurant serves generous portions and they have a pizza shack as well if an easy bite is all that is needed. Room had a jacuzzi style bath that my son loved. Negatives are no in room wifi. Only available in lobby for an expensive fee (considering it's only available in the lobby). Makes planning difficult. Poor cell phone reception. Dated linen. In room coffee replenishment didn't replenish the sugar. Needed more towels than were provided. If you can afford to stay in the park I would recommend it. Otherwise YVL is a close, cheaper alternative.

Area recommendations
Lodging in the park itself.

“doesn't worth the price at all”

bed was comfortable and river right next to the room was nice but kitchenette is too small to cook, dirty dishes (had to wash everything before use), light was out for the door and in a bathroom... if it was a cheap motel then i wouldn't be surprised but

“Convenient access to Yosemite”

We got a last minute half off the rate for a river view room, right before Thanksgiving. Great view of the river. Stayed in the Dogwood building, which is right across from the front desk & store, and right by the restaurant. The room was OK, looks worn. Sheet had a hole (moderate)- come on management, ditch the sheet when it gets a hole! Nice having a kitchenette though- bring your breakfast & lunch, and bring better coffee & filters too. The pizza is pretty tasty, which is what we ate every night. Yosemite entrance is about 5 minutes away. The only drag about wintertime in Yosemite is the road becomes 1 way lane for some part, and you have to wait your turn before the light turns green. Painful! Still beautiful, without the humongous crowds!

“full kitchen, a surprise!”

It's just a few minutes from Yosemite entrance. The room was spacious with a kitchen with everything. We even brought steak from Yosemite's market and cooked our own dinner with a lot of fun. I definitely would come back with more ideas the next time.

We stopped by Mariposa before Yosemite. The town was fun.

“Pleasant room close to Yosemite”

The room was nicely decorated, but nothing fancy. We had a river view room and could hear the water flowing. Great view of the small river and forested hillside beyond. The room was quiet, but we had quiet neighbors. Wi Fi was $10/day so we did not try it. The room had a nice bathtub Jacuzzi. Our only complaint was the lack of lighting to read by. But being there to see Yosemite, we weren't in the room all that much. There is a restaurant on the motel property but we did not eat there.

Area recommendations
The trail to Inspiration Point. The trails to and around Vernal and Nevada Falls.
