Awesome location

After reading all the reviews I was a little skeptical of the hotel. It was very small but it wasn’t horrible at all. There were a couple cockroaches in the bathroom which was unsanitary but the location was absolutely awesome. We tried to find other hotels for our next stay and none could compare with the location of this one. I think we’d stay here again just for that!

Make sure you drive down the road a bit to Makena’s Landing, we did that almost every morning and there were huge sea turtles close to the shore!!

My favorite place to stay close to the beach, very clean, fantastic

I have stayed at this hotel before and really enjoyed the location the proximity to the beach a few steps from the room. Rooms are very clean and well organized, small fridge, microwave, coffe pot and coffee. Very friendly and accomodating staff. I have told all of me friends and coworkers that this is the place to stay on Maui. You can tell my friend and I loved it.

Beautiful Hotel and grounds

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and very well kept. The office staff was very nice and helpful. The room was small, fine for one person. My only problems was with the mattress on the bed which way to soft for my back.The wall art was bad.

small, but it’s inexpensive & on the beach!

It was great to be really close to the beach, but that also meant we had a lot of people walking back by our room. Many nights, groups of loud people went walking by after eating & drinking at the restaurant. If you’re out partying too, you’d never be bothered by them, but we were back in our room fairly early, & preferred to have the windows open. A nice breeze came in the room every evening. I’d read the room was really small, & it was. I think next time I’d pay a little more & look for another place on the beach.

There was fairly good snorkeling right in between this hotel & the one next door. We loved going out early before breakfast, without having to drive to another beach. Denny’s is five minutes down the road for breakfast, with a nice balcony.

rooms were ok. not big, but you are supposed to go out and enjoy yourself. rooms are only to change and sleep when you are on vacation. staff was really friendly and location is perfect

Spend a little extra money and be comfortable!

A friend told me that is was clean and the photos look great. This is not true. It is not a dirty hotel but the location is not ideal if you do not have a car and the ac didn’t work so I was up all night in the very uncomfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast next door was great but I would have enjoyed having a good nights sleep.

The room was O.K. but small

The room was really small, I think the bed was posturepedic though. There is a nice restaurant attached. A pretty nice beach right outside the hotel. Good economy hotel if the price is good.

Needs improvement

Arrived approx. 9PM and checked in--AC was not on in the room (window AC) on second floor--It took until almost 3AM for the room to start feeling comfortable-- room was also pretty compact-small. Would have to say not a good deal for the money. Wouldn’t recommend.

Nice Place to Stay

Nice, affordable place to stay in Maui. My only complaint was that the ice machine was broken...other than that, it was great! Right on the beach, nice staff, clean room! I’m sure we’d stay there again!

Good Customer Service, ok room

The rooms are very small, almost tiny. There were 2 huge dead cockroaches underneath the bathroom sink, and the air conditioner started getting extremely loud after running for more than a couple of hours at night, waking us up. The staff was very friendly, and overall the hotel was in great condition, also conveniently located in the southern part of Kihei.

Da Kitchen in Kihei for great local food, BJ’s Pizza for the best deep dish pizza you will ever have anywhere.

Very well located, few steps away from the beach

We would definetely go back to this hotel. Basically it’s very conveniently located - right next to the Ocean. The room was a little too small, with almost no space to hang your clothes. Customer service was excellent, we asked for additonal items in our room and were delievred right after.

Nice Small Hotel

This hotel is perfect if you need just a place to sleep and go to the beach. The room is super small. No bath tub. But there are two great restuarants 100 yards away and the beach is the same. It is a perfect get away hotel for a couple or for locals. Would not recommend for families or children.

LOVED IT!!!!!!

We came to Maui for our honeymoon and it was a blast. The hotel is at a perfect location. The beach and sunsets were amazing. Even though we had read some reviews that this hotel was to small. I think it was perfect for our needs. I would definately recommend and return to this hotel.

We love to hike and I would recommend going on your own and not with Hike Maui, they are nice and the kayak, snorkeling was a blast, but the waterfall hike was more like a nature walk than a hike. Iao Valley is not really a hike but it is one place you don’t want to miss.

Not all what I expected.

They gave us a room next to a parking lot of a restaurant. We could not sleep due to cars going and coming until about 1:00 a.m., then employees of the restaurant made so much noice until 3:00 a.m. At 8:00 a.m. trucks were backing up to restaurant to deliver their daily supplies. It was not a good thing...I am very disappointed that they did not disclose this. When we complained all we got was an apology. Will not recommend this to anyone.

The location was great. Very close to Wailea and the nice shops. Kihei had very nice places to eat.

Very satisfactory

Great location steps from the beach. The only part we didn’t like was the adjacent restaurant, which may or may not be part of the hotel - they served mediocre food at inflated prices and the waiters were weird. Hotel itself, though, is worth going to.

Cheap but nice

We needed a place to stay for a night before our time share week took effect and thought one night here wouldn’t be that bad and it really wasn’t. The room was very small the shower very dark and no views whatsoever to speak of but it worked out well for the very inexpensive cost of the room. It was at the end of a very nice beach. And when you combine that with the boardwalk further down south, you could walk all the way down to the Kea Lani (fairmont) with no problems at all--a very nice morning or evening walk.

Good deal for the price

We choose this hotel since it was located on the beach (the beach was great and not too crowded during week days). The hotel room was small, but clean. The only unpleasant thing about the room was the smelly bathroom. Even after housekeeping cleaned the room it would still smell. Other than that, this is a great place to stay if you are planning to go on various excursions on the island and not planning to stay in the room much.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The hotel room has a fridge, and Safeway is located only about 5 miles away. I’d suggest doing some grocery shopping and save money on food.

disappointed

The sheets on my bed were not changed for the 7 nights that I was there.I know this because there was a small tear in the sheets that I looked at every day. The towels were changed daily. I don’t know if it was a lazy housekeeper or that is their policy.

Nice tucked in hotel very close to the beach!

I was very happy with the hotel, the only thing I didn’t like was the outside shower was out of order the whole time I was there, used the shower of the next door hotel, but other than that I have no reason to complain, the front desk was very helpful in my things in finding good places to eat and taking in the sights and booking one day trips.

Excellent Beach Access

It may have been a little bit down the road from shopping and restaurants, but the beach access and sunset views were incredible, and well worth the extra time it takes to get there.

This may well be the best value non-resort hotel in Kihei. If you are looking for a place to leave your bags and see the island, this would be it!

I love Maui - Best Western was great!

I didnt know the area so I went with a name I knew and trusted - Best Western. I also heard they had free internet wi-fi in the rooms and free parking. Best of all they had an amazing beach, one of the best beaches in Kihei, and the property is RIGHT on the beach. My room was a few buildings back but was upstairs and quiet, many beautiful plants outside my window. I was in Maui for a friend’s wedding but would go back in a minute and likely stay at Best Western again. The only complaint I had was the in-room coffee maker did not work properly, and no in-lobby coffee. I told the cleaning lady and everything was fine otherwise - my stay there was absolutely amazing!

stay at the Best Western Kihei - amazing. Make sure you go snorkeling straight out from the hotel. The water is very safe, a lot of coral and reef, and so many colorful fish, so beautiful! Bring your laptop too, free-wi fi in room :)

Great Deal

Beautiful beach location, quiet, safe, good parking (free) rooms are small but fine for 2 people if you spend your days site seeing and being out and about. Close to Kihei for restaurants and shopping and beautiful secluded beaches to the south. I would stay here again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Try Maui tacos for meals under $10 and avoid pricy restaurants. Moose McGillycuddy’s has the best sunset dinner across from Kam beach good mahi mahi for around $12. Don’t go to convenience stores for goodies unless you want ot pay $4 for a 6 pack of diet pepsi, go to grocery stores instead.Driving is no fun, find a beach and park it for the day and relax!

Great hotel, great value

If you are looking for a place to stay while out site seeing then this is it. Its a small place, very quiet, great beach. Close by are all the fast food places to eat, shop. Great for whale watching right out in front, can see other islands right from the beach. Computer in lobby is great to use or bring laptop and go wireless. You really need a car on this island. Go to Lahina, do the road to Hana, do the bike ride down Haleakala, Go to the hotel right next door, it has a small shop for groceries, licquor, etc for a quick bite. Lots of beaches up and down the road to stop at and enjoy the day. Our room was one of the closest to the beach, just 45 steps. There are many, many places to stay on this island, being this close to some of the best beaches, makes this a great place to stay. We spent 7 days prior in Honolulu, wished we stayed here longer.

There is a Safe-way up the road, stop by and pick up some things to make in the room, ref on site and microwave makes it easy. Food is not cheap, milk was $9 a gallon. McDonalds #1 was $8, and thats the cheap stuff, Dennys was up the road. We hit the delit at safe-way and picked up a cheap cooler for the day trips up and down the road.

Good option for the price

I was looking for a hotel that was not to expensive because I was going to use it only for sleeping, and spend all day touring around. This hotel matched my expectations. Located in a quiet neighborhood, offering quiet, clean and nice rooms, it was exactly what I wanted. Employees were also very nice.
