Contemporary, Tropical & excellent location

Very impressed with the hotel. Great indoor lobby area and bar and excellent pools and hot tub. Nice cadillac SUV to shuttle you distances within 3 miles. Only several blocks away from the Fashion Square. Breakfast was very good. We travel a lot and would definetly stay here again.

Hotel Fire Sky Resort

I tavel alot and this was a very good hotel! I was impressed with the decoration and setting of the hotel. It was very nice and clean. The staff from his hotel is very professional and very nice! I was so impressed with how each staff member truly enjoyed their work and smiled at all the guests and went out of there way to make YOU feel good and comfortable. From the guy at the hotel entrance door to the reception desk staff to the pool service, housekeeping, security etc. the were all nice and pleasant with everyone, I’ve never seen that at any other hotel. it’s like they enjoy helping you and they forget they are actually doing a job. I would come back and recommend this hotel many times.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

You get so much more for then the price you pay. This hotel is so relaxing and the pool area is heaven by day and night. A must stay!

Sweet Layout

We went for a last minuet get away for a night. Everything was better than we expected. The food at Taggia was excellent and their service was so good we drove all the way back for dinner the next night as well. It was so peaceful and quiet I could have fallen asleep in the cabanas by the pool after dinner. I think next time I will just lest myself do that. It was well worth the money and the drive.

Traveler's tip on dining

Get there early for your room and stay till the last to sleep in. You won’t want to leave.

Great hotel, but NOISY air conditioning

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for only one night before transferring to a different hotel. Our toilet in the room ran constantly and we had to turn the water off to it because we couldn’t sleep. Also, the air conditioning was so loud when it kicked on that it woke us up repeatedly. We had to move to get some sleep. The staff and the grounds were lovely - if only the air conditioning and plumbing matched!

Traveler's tip on shopping

Great shopping and eating very close by. Also very close to Camelback, which we hiked the morning we stayed.

Will definitely go back!

We absolutely loved the FireSky! The staff was awesome, pools beautiful and tranquil, and the rooms comfortable. The lobby is decorated beautifully as well. We chose this hotel because we wanted a more low key place vs. the larger resorts that have waterparks. This was exactly what we had hoped it would be. We can’t wait to go back. It’s in a great location close to shopping and restaurants.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Check out Dos Gringos for great pitchers of margaritas, "street tacos" and a fun atmosphere.

Hotel Staff is Exceptional

Every employee we encountered from the Hotel Manager to the housekeeping staff was wonderful. We had a few comments and concerns that we brought to the Manager’s attention during our stay and he called us and met with us the very next day. The amentities and extras like the free shuttle to the downtown area are great. We would definitely return and stay there again!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t rent a car unless you are planning day trips to surrounding attractions. The free shuttle downtown in a Cadillac Escalade is outstanding and then there is a free trolley service as well

It was nice

It was a beautiful hotel. The toilet paper roll dispenser broke though and fell on my foot which hurt a lot. The hotel staff didn’t seem too worried about it.

Good, Relaxing and Feel Good hotel

The hotel gave me the warm and welcoming atmosphere right from the beginning. The staff were all attentive and helpful. I am not much fun of a designer’s hotel and decoration of the hotel was just right. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who would want to wind down and relax. Since it is hard to get taxi around this area, I thought it was a great service that they offer 3-mile range shuttle service, which covers pretty much what is happening in Scottsdale.

Wonderful service!

Check in was quick and pleasant, upon finding that our room had only one bed my friend and I were moved to an upgraded room poolside. The hotel dining facility was nice and had a good wine selection. The wait staff were really nice and fun. The pools are great if a bit warm for the July temperatures. The rooms are quite nice, very clean and welcoming. The beds are outstanding and the t.v. channel selection are among the best I have seen.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The pools are open 24 hours and are best enjoyed at night as the fountains and fire create a soothing backdrop for relaxation.

Fabulous

This is a wonderful place to stay. Just a block up from the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Breakfast in their restaurant was excellent. Both pools were wonderful. We especially loved the sand entry pool for our 2 and 4 year old daughters. I would definitely stay here again. Do not hesitate to book this hotel.

Great place for relaxation

Very, very nice place. A bit understaffed, perhaps, and although the staff was very kind and helpful, they seemed a bit inexperienced. But otherwise, perfect.

great hotel

we booked this hotel for a stopover in scottsdale. looking back, I’d have liked to stay longer that one night. The pools and bar are open 24 hours, so you can really enjoy the warm night outside. Our room was clean and had a separate patio, which was nice. There is enough parking available but the hotels shuttle service is very convenient as well. They will take you anywhere (within a 3 mile radius) and will pick you back up anytime. The front desk staff was very thoughtful and offered to print our boarding passes for us. We would really like to back some time.

Nice place to stay

This is an older hotel that was renovated (it appears recently renovated). Rooms were nice as were the hotel grounds. Loved the pools, especially the beach pool with a sandy beach. Exactly what I expect from a Kimpton Hotel.

Upscale and Unpretentous

This is the third time I have stayed at Fire Sky Resort and Spa and found it to be securely in the Kimpton tradition of quality, comfort and pleasing aesthetics. Among the amenities are the daily happy hour from 5-6 p, free wireless access and fitness room, which is 24-7 available The most outstanding and memorable aspect however is the large entrance and lobby, which is vertically high and visually pleasing in all directions. Sitting, relaxing and conversing in this area was one of the high points of the trip. The space is large, but comforting and never oppressive. My only issue with the facility is the overly personal approach of the staff. Upon checking in, you are greeted with personal inquiries about where you are from, what your purpose is here and similar personal questions. I understand this "High Touch" approach has undoubtedly been market tested and probably is not an issue for most consumers. I appreciate competent, efficient service but dislike being questioned about personal issues from hotel staff, even if the intent is to provide personal service. Instead of being helpful, it is intrusive, annoying and detracted from an otherwise completely satisfactory visit.

My review of Fire Sky

The lobby and front exterior is very impressive and nice looking. The room itself was old construction but updated with new trendy wood foyer, granite counter tops, nice light fixtures and very contemporary furniture. Room size was not quite as big as expected and the view was of the patio wich bordered the parking lot, although they do offer other rooms with better views. The pool was much smaller than expected but had a nice layout and plenty of area to lounge. And the beach area is fun for kids. The restaurant was very pricey but it’s short trip across the street to the mall or other dining options close by. Would I go back? Probably not anytime soon but I would recommend it to a friend from out of town.

Very Nice Place to Relax

It was a quite hotel and a great place to relax They made arrangements for a car to pick us up from the airport which was much nicer than a taxi With only one restaurant on site the shuttle service a Cadillac Escalade that they offered was very convenient Everything you needed was within the shuttles 3 mile radius limit and you rarely waited more than 5 minutes for it It was a VERY pet friendly resort so if you dont mind sharing a couch with a dog youll be ok Rooms very comfortable gym was small but it had the minimum Restaurant was good but needed more of a variety Pools and service were excellent but get your chair early We love to try different places but would go back here again Great Summer specials if you call

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Great restaurants and shopping close by. Use their shuttle service, it’s great.

Fantastic place to let Go of life!!!

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was clean, beautifully kept, and the gym and work out center had great equipment. The pool and the cabanas were fantastic and a great place to hang out and enjoy, but you better get up early to grab one of the three they had. The only comment I would say that shocked me was the food prices were a little high. But for the convenience of not having to leave and just hang it was worth it. The wine tasting event at night was fabulous. I had my daughter and my sons friends daughter with me, and we all enjoyed the stay. Being so close to shopping and having the hotel shuttle was even a better plus. I am going back in August and already told 100 of my friends to GO HERE.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Only 6 blocks from a MONSTER mall, and it was fabulous.
