The Akamas National Park lies on the west coast of Cyprus, a truly pictorial part of the island. It has an area coverage of 230 square kilometres containing valleys, gorges and wide sandy bays. The wildlife diversity is crucial for the ecology in the Mediterranean. In this spectacular environment there are 168 varieties of birds, 20 different reptiles, 16 species of butterfly and 12 different mammals not to mention its very rich variety of fauna. The important significance of the Akamas Peninsula has been duly noted; The European Council has included it in its Mediterranean Protection Programme. The Cyprus Government has yet to fully declare it as a National Park for tourist and local landowners reasons, although friends of the Earth and Green Peace are lobbying hard for it.

"This is definite faded grandeur. The ground floor looks and feels beautiful but the rest of the hotel is tatty - not helped by a lack of cleaning In some of the common parts. Staff were slightly taciturn, but we went out of season and they might have been busy doing other things. The location though is fantastic and, crucially, there is a good breakfast! This hotel could be so much better with some love. As it is, it is over priced."

"Room was fine and overlooked the sea/woodland. Breakfast was ok. Parking is limited and not easy to access. Beach is not very nice with graffiti everywhere. A pleasant enough stay. Just didn’t like the area as a very busy road with idiot drivers speeding and not a great selection of bars or restaurants. Hotel was fine though. One of the Irish bars charged us an extoriationate amount for glass of wine and a beer. Not the Greece that we know! "

"We arrived early and was greeted by a very friendly man who let us have access to the room despite 2 hrs early Room was very clean , large bed and nice balcony - every day the room was cleaned and fresh towells ! Swimming pool is fresh water and they take real pride in this , excellent pool area too ! Walk up the hill , kiosk and 2 restaurants , both excellent too Breakfast was brilliant selection and fresh , overall I would highly recommend this hotel as real value for money , great staff , thanks so much we will be back !
