The kindness of the staff is the outstanding memory from my visit to Park Royal Beach Acapulco. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly bell staff, gracious food and beverage employees, and a helpful concierge. My time at the resort was during rainy season and the property was relatively empty. The staff used this less busy time to dote upon me and ensure that I was well cared for. This can be especially said for the food and beverage team. I was rarely without a drink in hand and, when dining, Julio and his team went above and beyond in service. I also appreciate the staff's patience as I stumbled through my days using less-than-perfect Spanish.
Another great positive of this property was the private beach, albeit small.
The property itself is not a "luxury" property, per se. The buildings are several decades old and, while maintained, I would not say maintained very well. During rain storms the lobby was filled with towels and buckets to catch water from the leaking roof. The funicular frequently had issues where it wasn't working. The bathtub drained slowly and the AC was sporadic. Things along these lines. But we took it in stride and none of this was a great negative impact on our experience. And, to be honest, at the low price I paid for this trip I'm not sure that I could have expected more. It would be like paying for a Quality Inn and expecting the Montage.
Overall, I'd recommend the Park Royal. It also seems great for a family with children.
