Great stay

Whilst there isn't a great deal to do in La Herradura itself we had a few pleasant walks down there, but the villa has everything you need anyway so we spent most of our time there just completely chilling out, barbecuing, sunbathing and taking in the stunning view from the pool. The photos don't really do it justice, particularly inside. As a group of five 50+ adults whose clubbing days are long gone, we had a brilliant, relaxing time and would love to return one day.

Spectacular location but property needs TLC

Blown away by the beautiful view and great location to be able to walk to town in 5 mins. Unfortunately the villa needs renovating (needs painting outside) and furnishings i.e. sofas, beds, bedding need replacing. Staircase to upstairs bedroom not for the fainthearted especially in the dark and the ensuite bathroom up there needs a revamp. Kitchen and outside area well equipped but bedrooms very lacking in drawer space especially as we were there ten days. That said we just loved the location.

Belle villa avec vue mirifique!!

Ma famille a adoré cette villa et sa commodité. La vue est vraiment merveilleuse et un coucher du soleil fabuleux. Le seul bémol est peut-être les matelas des lits double qui sont trop dur mais somme toute super propriété dans un endroit très tranquille.

Bijzonder mooie locatie en uitzicht

Villa ligt echt op een bijzonder mooie locatie vlakbij het centrum en met een nog mooier uitzicht over de baai. Zwembad is ook heerlijk al vinden wij wel dat deze heel dicht bij de afgrond ligt. Met spelende jonge kinderen is het echt heel goed uitkijken.

Amazing! Book now!!

This is one of the best place I have ever stayed!’ The best thing about this villa was the view!! And it was a 10 min walk to lots of great bars and restaurants. We loved that the area wasn’t touristy and he villa is in such a great position!!! There is also the possibility to swim from Villa to beach which we were keen to do but couldn’t because the key didn’t work so that would be my only suggestion for the owners! Rachel was great to contact we asked for a hairdryer and she delivered the next day! One of our best holiday experiences thank you x

Aufenthalt im Casa Arevale Aug-Sept 2019

Terasse, Pool uns Aussicht sind Weltklasse. Den Preis absolut Wert. Leider verhält es sich mit der Sauberkeit anders. Für den Tagespreis von € ca. 380/Tag könnte man erwarten, dass die Wohnung und Aussenmöbel in einem sauberen Zustand sind. Die Waschmaschienentür war verschlossen. Beim Öffnen der Tür war fauliger Geruch riechbar. Die Sitz- und Liegenpolster waren braun eingefärbt vor lauter Sonnencreme von unereren Vorgängern. Diese mussgen wir zuerst waschen. Der Grillrost triefte von Fett, der Verandatisch ist voller Krumen und Speiseresten in den Zwischenräumen und auf der Verlängerung. Einige Kittfugen in den Nasszellen weisen Schimmelspuren (sind schwarz) auf. Ein Duschablauf musste durch uns entstopft werden. Alles "Kleinigkeiten" welche behoben wurden oder bei welchen man wegsehen kann, welche unseren Aufenthalt nicht gross getrübt haben. Jedoch für den Preis sollte man das eigentlich nicht vorfinden. Vielleicht bessert sich das ja auf Grund dieser Bewertung. Super war der Beschrieb vom Ort und den Restaurant, welcher im Haus auflag. Wir haten somit gute Informationen und fanden uns im Dorf prima zurecht. Wir werden gerne wieder unser Ferien dort verbringen.

What you see in the pictures doesn’t start to describe how breath taking the location of this house

We had a fantastic holiday. The house is simply amazing and it felt like home. The owner provides all amenities and commodities that makes you forget it’s a rental. Some of the rooms need some maintenance but overall highly recommended. Thank you very much for everything and we are looking forward to coming next year

Tolled Haus in traumhafter Lage

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche in La Herradura. Die Villa und vor allem der Blick sind traumhaft. Baden im Pool mit Aussicht zum Genießen. Die Zimmer alle in Ordnung, bis auf den teilweise störenden Geruch, der auch nach mehrmaligem Lüften nicht wegging. Die Terrasse, die dazugehörige Ausstattung und der Grill waren hervorragend und ausreichend vorhanden. Einziger Wehmutstropfen: die Baustelle nebenan.

Beautiful villa with stunning views

Overall we had an excellent holiday in La Herradura. We are a family of 4 with children aged 6 and 7. On arrival we met Rachel at the Costa Tropical Villa Office. She was very pleasant and professional and was very knowledgeable of the area. She brought us up to the villa 3 mins drive from the beach front and showed us around making sure we were familiar with the appliances etc. Shortly after she left we noticed that the charcoal barbecue was a little worse for wear. A quick phone call to Rachel and this was replaced immediately without any hassle. The property itself sits on a stunning site literally perched on a cliff top. So if your looking at the photos and wondering if there’s a drop? Yes there is. We just made the kids aware of this and blocked off the area with sun beds. The villa is a 5 minute stroll away from the nearest beach. The beach in La Herradura is stoney so no building sandcastles. The water was very pleasant and is a fantastic place for scuba diving and snorkeling. But the best surprise was large school of bottlenose dolphins best viewed from a boat which can be rented from the marina 5 mins away by car. We rented from Nautica MH which were excellent. Back to the villa. It was very hard to fault. It looks better in reality. The garden was well maintained and the pool/pool deck area was just the perfect place to sit back and relax. The interior was well appointed with comfortable furniture, comfortable beds and enough to satisfy most. The kitchen was a slight let down. The filter coffee machine took forever to brew coffee and it never tasted nice. Luckily there’s a decent barista style expresso machine with a steamer to froth the milk. The villa would benefit from a deep clean but this didn’t detract from the overall impression. Would we return? Most definitely. It’s a beautiful villa with stunning views, La Herradura is a great place, it’s not for those looking for nightlife. Its perfect for families and those who enjoy the water and the abundance of water sports all within a short distance of the villa. If your reading this review your probably considering staying. It was our first time in this part of Spain and to be honest it exceeded our expectations, Enjoy.

Best view ever! Great house close to town with beautiful pool.

We just left today but I had to write this review ASAP. The house was just awesome! Great location, we walked to/from town many times per day, although it is uphill. Refreshing pool with unbelievable views! Great little stores and restaurants, friendly people. Perhaps a new coffee pot would be a good idea. We felt safe in our little neighborhood, and walked home in the dark every night. The A/C units were a little temperamental at times but all of them worked. Overall, loved it!! Planning to return! Rachel was lovely and helpful!

The best location in the area!

Casa Arevale was a charming house with fantastic view and outdoor facilities. We were two families staying in the house for 12 days an we loved every second. The house is located only 5 minutes from the beach and restaurants in La Herradura. There is also a steep track down to the cliffs from the house. It’s a bit tricky to get up from a swim because there are no stairs to help you to get out (or in) of the see, so swimshoes is recommended. It is a nice swim from the house and to the beach if you are up for it. All the bathrooms are recently upgraded and modern, the kitchen works fine but is maby next on the refurbishment list? The sleepingroom in the lover floor are seperated from the rest of the house and has it’s own entrance. The bedroom and bathroom is nice but the smell is very unpleasant, but our teenager boys managed to find good sleep in there anyway so it worked for us. Rachel, our hostess, was very friendly, helpful and professional. We would love to come back to casa Arivale some day, it’s hard to find a better property than this to spend your holdiday with family and friends.

This property has a stunning location and enjoys beautiful views across the bay.

We visited in mid June 2018 just as the weather was turning hot and it was nice to have a coastal villa with a gental sea breeze. We had a great stay and describing the villa would never do justice to the absolute stunning setting. We arrived in the evening and I went for glass of water early the next morning and when you see the view from the kitchen window it just wakes you up instantly and draws you outside onto the patio. The villa inside is beautiful and well furnished. We had good weather and basically slept in the villa and spent the day and evenings in the outside space. If visiting in the winter the views are stunning from inside with the large windows. The pool was just the right size for us and was actually warm from mid afternoon right through until midnight. Rachel was really helpful and provided some key essentials for late arrival in the evening. La Herradura is a short walk down from the villa and has many good restaurants and beach cafes. We visited Granada during our stay as it is only an hour up the motorway. Worth a visit but watch the temperatures in mid summer as it can easily go up into the late 30s, however it is nice to come back to the temperate coast afterwards for a relaxing evening. Almunicar is only 10 mins up the road and has many nice restaurants and some large supermarkets. We also had two late afternoon/evening trips into Nerja which was really nice albeit busy. Curiosity got the better of us and we visited the light house at the top of the hill from the villa. This has stunning views north east up the coast and you get a great view of the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s only 5 mins up the winding road and there is parking there. I must congratulate the owners on selecting such a desirable location and offering out for rental. Worth every penny.

Traumhafte Aussicht

Wir sind nun schon häufig in den unterschiedlichsten Villen und Häusern in La Herradura gewesen. Diese Villa ist allerdings einmalig - für uns besitzt sie die beste Aussicht von La Herradura. Das Haus ist sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Wer eher an einladender Atmosphäre als an einem Hochglanz/Glaspalast interessiert ist, ist hier genau richtig.Das zusätzliche kleine Apartment - durch eine Außentreppe zu erreichen - war für unseren Sohn ideal. die Einrichtung hochwertig und so gemütlich wie das Haupthaus. Rachel und ihr Ehemann konnten jederzeit kontaktiert werden, sollte Hilfe nötig sein. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und könnten uns vorstellen, diese Unterkunft nochmals zu mieten.

A great experience from start to end. Local staff really helpful. House well equipped if a bit quirky. Outdoor space and pool sublime. Easy walk into La Herradura for all but old or infirm.
