While this motel is relatively expensive, for Anchorage it is a bargain. I have zero complaints. The Hilton Hotel, no. A nice, better than decent ecomical, clean, quiet place to stay, yes.

Quirky place, lots of charm. It had a hostel kind of vibe with a shared cooking area and friendly neighbors. If that is what you are looking for then this is a great choice. We booked a room with a shared bath and i would describe the level of cleanliness in both the room and the bath/shower as minimally acceptable. Not so bad that we considered walking out but bad enough that we wished we were staying somewhere else. Don't get me started on the bedding. The location is mid-town, walking distance to some great coffee shops, restaurants etc albeit in strip malls.

The saying you get what you pay for applies. We needed a place to lay our heads after big tourist days in Anchorage and that's what we got. However, the walls are thin and the walkway for the second floor does not protect against any noise. The bathroom needs a bit more work. I think the contractor ran out of time or money because the grout work wasn't finished. My husband thought it was mold at first! There was a large gap under the door to the room. One good rainstorm would flood that room. There was one staff person who saw we were struggling to get our key cards to work. She came over to help us, which was very much appreciated. The water and chocolates were a nice touch. If you need a no frills and inexpensive place to rest for the night, this is the place for you.

This is a little hidden gem. Very quaintly decorated. Clean. Not wild about the shared bathrooms and showers but it worked out ok. Full kitchen in the lobby for guests to cook meals. Great coffee I. The morning. Would stay here again when coming to anchorage.
