Great view of the lake

Overall, I like the hotel except the weekend we were visiting my daughter and grandson. The price of hotel was outrageous because of what was going on that weekend

Clean and relaxed atmosphere.

Pros: Loved the breakfasts and my kids loved the pool!!
Cons: There was a door leading to the outside that I could not initially exit out of. I told staff and it was addressed.
Location: Lake superior is right outside the back door! Fun beach with tubes to use. There were people fishing out back as well. Relaxing atmosphere!
My husband and I brought our 12 yr old son and his friend to the hotel to spend a weekend in Ashland and Bayfield. We had a great time. Our room was clean and comfortable. When we needed extra bedding for a cot we brought along it was no big deal to get more bedding. The kids really enjoyed having such a lovely pool to hang out in on their down time at the hotel and loved the waterslides! It was a nice reward for them after driving around and hiking with adults. The pool was in great condition, clean, and clean towels to use to dry off. The hot tub and splash areas were nie as well. We enjoyed having a nice breakfast each morning! Breakfast was perfect and there was space to actually sit down to enjoy the meal! (many hotels I have stayed at struggle with having adequate space to enjoy the meal) I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others. Especially if you have children. I generally look for hotels that include breakfast since feeding a family can add up costs quickly. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had no issues with sound concerns and felt quite secluded in our room each night.

We bought a room with a balcony facing the lake so we could enjoy sitting and admiring the lake and the birches. Next door to us was a cigar smoker who sat on the deck and the wind blew the smoke at us. I believe you are in violation of the state ban on smoking in public facilities. The balcony had three walls and a roof which qualifies as a room by law. I would suggest you review your policy about smoking in the rooms. You could provide a smoking area across the parking lot where the smoke would not infringe upon the guests. At your next inspection you could be fined for your oversight. Otherwise room was nice, breakfast was good, and view was great. Too bad we had to enjoy it indoors with closed windows.

Great value. Close to the lake. Check out the mural tour of downtown Ashland.

Nice hotel at a reasonable price near Apostle Isla

The room was nice and a good breakfast..except for biscuits and gravy day! The area around the hot tub was disgusting....clumps of grass for three days. We reported it the first day and they said they clean it every Thursday!! Which was three days away!!! The lifeguard opened the door next to the hot tub and all the cold air blew in on us so we wanted it closed...he was NOT happy!!

Private beach, plenty for families to do.

Pros: The view from our room. The ppol area was amazing.
Cons: The beds coulf be upgraded.
Location: Beach, dining, casino.
Quiet hotel on Lake Superior. We would definitely recommend this place.

Guest vomit

The hotel was nice, however, there was a wedding in the conference center during our stay. The music was so loud that we could hear every word of every song from our room. The music played past midnight. The fog machine from their DJ set off the fire alarm, not once but TWICE! And to top it off, while enjoying coffee on the patio of our room in the morning, there was a lady in the room next to us throwing up over the railing of the patio! I paid way too much for this room considering what this hotel allows!! Its very inconsiderate for this hotel to allow any party to disrupt other guests.

Dirty and uncomfortable

Fairly dirty and lack of regular maintenance/cleaning very apparent. Staff was weird and unprofessional. Water park was pretty cool for kiddo but lifeguard on duty was most certainly not interested in guarding any lives. Overall value was worth half what we paid... Will pay double next time to stay in a cabin.
