Ashwater Vacations from $1,911

I stayed in this hotel in Exeter Oct 26-29. The woman who checked me in could not seem less happy to see me or in in checking me in. My room was lovely and quiet and clean... until I lost something and looked under the bed where there were someone's dirty underwear, a pair of glasses and God knows what else amidst an inch of dust. Extremely gross I called down to reception multiple times and there was no answer. For three nights reception was mostly absent. When my key wouldn't work I waited 20 minutes at the desk while two lovely bartenders went to find someone. Finally the restaurant manager tried to help me. When I asked for some bottles of water at the bar for my room a bartender spent ages trying to locate some. The staff that I dealt with all seemed very very nice but it seems like the hotel is being operated like a restaurant with rooms. It is insufficiently staffed. On my last night I asked what time check out was and whatever man was filling in(?) at reception said "maybe noon or one"? So not good, Hotel Indigo. I won't use your chain.

Room was very nice and clean.Staff exceptionally polite and helpful.Freshly cooked breakfast omelette exceptional.Perfect location. Will definitely stay again.

Seafront room with the waves thrashing over the sea wall and sparing seawater, shells and stones across the road. What a great view, breakfast was OK, ole seaside hotel and rooms which made us both feel happy. Thank you to all the staff
