Adorable Lakefront Cottage perfect for Families & Fishermen - Lake Athens

Looking for a place to stay and play? This water-front property with large yard and boat dock/lift is perfect for families who want to have fun on the lake, or recreational/professional anglers going after the big catch.

This cozy cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Master bedroom has a full size bed (lake view and access to large deck), second bedroom has 7 foot long twin beds. Each bedroom has a flat screen television. Fully supplied kitchen (except dishwasher) with dining for 6. Living area is fully furnished with large flat screen TV and lake view (internet and satellite provided). You can add 2 for sleeping on couches or bring your own air mattresses. All linens & Towels provided.

Enjoy your mornings with coffee on the front deck, or evenings on the lake dock enjoying the relaxing sunsets and stargazing (professional fireworks display can be seen from the property over the 4th of July holiday). Fire pit available for smores, and large outdoor grill/smoker for outdoor cooking. Yard is spacious enough to play volleyball, badminton or horseshoes, so bring your outdoor games!

This property has 100 feet of lake front for swimming with a private boat dock. So bring your boat for fishing or water fun! We provide kayaks, swim ladders and boat lift for your boat.

Property is also fenced around the house for young children as well as your family pups.

Lake Athens has a nice Marina that you can drive to by boat or vehicle. You can launch your boat from there to drive it to our boat lift. In addition, they have a nice restaurant for dinner, and bait shop that also sells breakfast and lunch. Visit the nearby Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, Zipline Adventures, or drive 10 minutes to Athens for shopping, groceries, restaurants and a movie theatre. Lake Athens is 20 minutes from Tyler that provides many choices for shopping, eating, movies and such.

Lake Athens stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the lake house. We have been there several times before w our dogs. The house was updated and everything worked great throughout the property. We enjoy taking our boat fishing and enjoying the Athens area.

A Slice of Lake Heaven
Wonderful lake property for those who want a quiet getaway to fish, kayak or just relax. Athens is a short drive for groceries, gas, restaurants. We noticed how the property is very dog-friendly and will tell our friends who have dogs that they should definitely go and take their fur-babies along as there is a nice, large grassy fenced-in area for dogs to roam as well as a cemented patio at the front entrance which is gated, fenced, and protected from the western sun. Very comfortable couches, great wi-fi, and large kitchen space for cooking/eating. We hope to visit again!

Ideal Fishing Lodge
This was the perfect house for me. Couldn't ask for a better setup to park a boat. Great access for fishing. Convenient ride to the marina. House was really maintained well. Good charcoal grill. Kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood. Really optimal location on the lake. Nothing but good things to say about this one. We'll be back!

We’ve stayed here multiple times the past 3 years and it’s always perfect. 2 people 2 medium size dogs. Sheryl is very helpful if needed but we’ve never needed anything during our stays. Just a nice place for us when visiting family in the area.

Perfect cottage on lake.
Super easy process to rent this adorable lake cottage. Very well stocked with everything we needed. We just brought clothes and food. It was perfect for our 2 Boston Terriers, with the 2 fenced/gated areas. Kayaks were a blast. Lovely place all the way around.

Nothing fancy just a nice clean small lake house with a nice yard for our 2 dogs. Very quiet area but close to town and the marina. Sheryl is always nice to work and she if you have an issue she will take care of it. We’ve never had any issues with this house, it’s perfect for the 2 of us and our big dogs.

Lovely Location
Cottage is in a lovely neighborhood on the lake. A septic odor in the cottage and abundant animal droppings in the backyard were disappointing but the owner responded quickly and provided a resolution so I trust those problems have been resolved. We also recommended the owners, at a minimum, add a can of coffee in the kitchen as that's pretty standard. We also recommended the owners provide a directions sheet on how to navigate the 4 TV remotes. As I said, the owners were responsive and provided resolution so we do recommend this location to other travelers.
