The Bahir Dar market is one of the most charming places in the city, although it is a bit underestimated by tourists. It combines catchy colours and precarious facilities as well as disposes lots of different products and spices. #market #colorful

Monasteries around Lake Tana are worth spending a day exploring. If combined with a boat ride, it’s a memorable and pleasant day trip. Blue Nile Falls are nearby and worth the views on the 20-30 min walk depending upon photo stops.

We enjoyed Bahir Dar, in general. It has lovely greenery around Lake Tana, wide roads, very limited traffic and a generally friendly feel. We'll definitely be back!

Bahir dar is beautiful city, the bus from Addis Ababa cost around $12 for 10 hours trip in amazing nature. However i recommend to take the plane around 50 min flight. To get a cheap ticket by plane you must come to Ethiopia via Ethiopian airlines.
