"We loved the pool, the water was cool but you had to go in with the beautiful temperature outside and the lovely views. We spent many hours both day and night enjoying great conversation, views, and wine. Everything about this villa was outstanding, the views, the comfort, the decor. Victor was a fabulous, gracious host. If he makes any recommendations for your stay, they will be amazing, from restaurants, places to visit, tours. I wish we could have stayed longer as again, the views were breathtaking, the property and art work stunning, the people all so very kind and interactive. This is a place you would not forget easily and hope to come back to."

"Excellent hotel, first impression very good the reception team, due to our Platanium membership upgraded the room. They also helped in staying an extra night and keeping same room and arranging a wine tasting and lunch at the hotels winery 10 minutes away. Bar and restaurant serve great food and drinks and you can look over the Duoro river from both, and also eat and drink on the terrace. Rooms comfy and spacious - fabulous hotel to explore the Duoro - Pinhao is just 25 mins drive away. We had a great time here"

"We enjoyed this hotel. We had a lovely room with a terrace overlooking the Douro River. Dinner in the luxury dining room was excellent but expensive. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. The pool was nice. We enjoyed the town with winery visits and boat trips. The only really odd thing was that the bottom of the shower door does not come to the floor and water flooded the bathroom floor. This happened to our friends also, so it was not just our room. You learn to stand in one small spot to wash. Odd, I would say. "

"Beautiful and quiet Hotel. Room was big and clean. Loved the nice balcony as well. Inside and outdoor pool was a big plus. Bring a bathing cap if you want to use the indoor pool Great service from staff. Good food as well!"

"The Chef went above and beyond coming to our table to explain how he created his dishes. The food was excellent. The front desk manager took time to come to our car and help us figure out how to pay the parking since it was all in Portuguese. Saved us!"
