"As the name implies, set in Douro valley with great view of the river below. We used as a rest stop, with no touring. Beautiful location with nice sunrise and sunsets. Nice room, but steps to and from meals and pool. Best be fit to enjoy the area."

"Excellent hotel, first impression very good the reception team, due to our Platanium membership upgraded the room. They also helped in staying an extra night and keeping same room and arranging a wine tasting and lunch at the hotels winery 10 minutes away. Bar and restaurant serve great food and drinks and you can look over the Duoro river from both, and also eat and drink on the terrace. Rooms comfy and spacious - fabulous hotel to explore the Duoro - Pinhao is just 25 mins drive away. We had a great time here"

"We enjoyed this hotel. We had a lovely room with a terrace overlooking the Douro River. Dinner in the luxury dining room was excellent but expensive. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. The pool was nice. We enjoyed the town with winery visits and boat trips. The only really odd thing was that the bottom of the shower door does not come to the floor and water flooded the bathroom floor. This happened to our friends also, so it was not just our room. You learn to stand in one small spot to wash. Odd, I would say. "

"This was seriously one of our best experiences ever. Victor was the best host and communicated with us from the very beginning ensuring our stay was smooth and comfortable throughout. On arrival he even made sure we got our dinner from a local restaurant making a request for them to make food for us after they were closed for the day. He and Paula made sure we were well taken care of. Paula even brought fresh picked apples for us! The view is gorgeous and the place is unbelievable. Thanks for a lifetime of an experience, Victor. "Beautiful and quiet Hotel. Room was big and clean. Loved the nice balcony as well. Inside and outdoor pool was a big plus. Bring a bathing cap if you want to use the indoor pool Great service from staff. Good food as well!"
