A River Runs Through it is a charming A-Frame set in a totally private, wooded setting surrounded by towering trees, slabs of moss-covered granite, and the crystal- clear Index Creek running directly below. The cozy and warm interior boasts the classic “cabin in the woods” details, with river rock fireplace, cedar walls, unique stone sink, and stone surrounded clawfoot tub. The loft bedroom feels tucked away from the world with the sound of the river lulling you to sleep. French doors open to a huge deck with a sparkling clean hot tub overlooking the river where you can listen to the sounds of nature while relaxing at this truly special retreat.
A River Runs Through It has been a popular vacation destination for over 15 years, now fully managed by Tree Line Rentals- the only LOCAL full-service management in the area!

Amazing and cozy

We were overwhelmed by the beautiful nature surrounding the home. Pictures just don’t do it justice. The set up of the home is straight out of a movie, we would change nothing! While we stayed there was no rain and it was mid 60 low 40 F and the heating/cooling worked great. We will be staying again very soon and are so thankful for the owners to have this spot available!

Sanctuary

I wanted a few days of solitude to reset, connect with nature, and relax and am SO glad I landed on this cabin for my retreat. Everything was as advertised and better. The view of the river from bed makes it hard to want to get up, but the thought of the even CLOSER view from the hot-tub below was motivating enough. Beautiful cozy home. I hope to be back!

Great getaway for a quiet weekend out of the city!

Our anniversary weekend, and the cabin was just what we needed to relax and just enjoy each other's company . Wish it hadn't rained so much so we could have enjoyed the hot tub more, but that's the NW in late September!

Peaceful cabin on the Skykomish

Awesome hideaway. Very peaceful and functional. Good place to relax and unwind, write, read and think. The hot tub on the deck was very welcome after skiing Stevens Pass. Would love to return.

Absolute beautiful cabin on a scenic river

This cabin sits back in the woods about a mile from the main highway. It’s directly on a small river (creek might be the proper term) and is absolutely gorgeous. This is a great getaway nestled in the mountains where you could stay at the cabin for your stay and or find plenty of scenic places to visit, such as the skykomish river or stevens pass. The cabin itself is very cozy and has hot water, stove, cooking utensils, hot tub, claw foot bath tub, and a grill. We hope to visit again.

Magical!

Our family of three (5yo son) stayed here Mother’s Day weekend which was also the birthday weekend of our son! This place was absolutely magical! The location was perfect for us as it was a quick drive over Stevens Pass to Leavenworth where we spent most of Saturday. We enjoyed delicious meals outside on the back deck with the rushing sounds of the river each night. We relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed evenings by the outdoor fire. The cabin was well equipped with kitchen appliances, cookware, and utensils. There were ample towels as well. The views from the second floor loft were phenomenal. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Anniversary getaway

Every year twice a year we take a trip out this way. We love it out here!! So beautiful This was a nice spot with a good river view (not really from inside the hot tub) and not ideal for fishing if you wanna wake up and walk out to the water and fish. Another downside is you can't shower only baths (which my husband doesn't wanna bathe after the hot tub each time. Me either) and by the time the bath his half full the water is cold. The beds are smallish and the check out clean up process was a little excessive. We always leave it how we arrived so it was easy just the list of the expectations was more than others especially when you pay a cleaning fee at booking. Overall I'd say 3 stars it was a nice getaway with decent views but for the price we've found bigger and better cabins very close by. Also I would recommend updating the photos because the cabin in the photos do not look like the cabin we stayed at. It's been renovated since those photos and gives a different vibe completely. It's more modern and we were excited for the more rustic look. I feel the picture kind of fakes you out which is disappointing. Also no washer and dryer. We always find that as a plus when staying for days.

Beautiful and peaceful

It’s a cute little cabin right next to the river - super quiet and peaceful. I hung out on the back deck in the sun all day, and enjoyed looking at the river. The sound of the river was soothing at night. Would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful and secluded.

Very cozy and comfortable. The back deck and hot tub were great. Everything worked. Only feedback I'd add, is that there IS a 220 V outlet for e-car charging, but it isn't mentioned in the listing. We would have preferred to have driven our e-car had we known.

Wonderful Romantic Getaway!

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and loved it! Easy to get to but feels secluded. Beautiful views and sounds of the river. Nice touches like a heated bathroom floor and heated toilet seat : ) Definitely recommend!

Phenomenal and Private

This cabin is beautiful and clean with incredible views of the river inside and out and in the hot tub. The hot tub looks brand new and was the cleanest one I’ve ever seen and super hot: 102. We made an egg scramble in the well equipped kitchen. We got pizza from Rico’s and it was delicious. We read books, napped, and enjoyed the claw foot tub. A much needed respite away from everyday stressors. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back.

Cozy anniversary getaway

This was our second time back to this property and it's still perfect for a cozy and quiet getaway! It was great for unplugged time together and enjoying the nature of the PNW. Another plus was that there wasn't a single issue booking or communicating with the property manager, and everything we needed was already on site.

Cozy cabin

We've stayed here three times and each time has been excellent. Highlights are the view of the stream, the hot tub and the reading couch in the loft. Its become part of our family lore as our kid has grown up in the past few years of coming. Great memories!ccoming here

The cutest and most perfect stay, short drive to Stevens Pass, and the most relaxing getaway. The hot tub with the river sounds was a great way to unwind after a long ski day. Would book again.

Cutesy cabin, far away from civilization

The scenery during the day is serene. I highly recommend arriving when the sun is still out, otherwise it’s a bit spooky. There are a few flashlights plugged into the outlets inside. The river can be heard at all times, like a peaceful white noise. It was raining for our whole trip, so we only went outside for the hot tub, which was AMAZING after a long day of skiing. It’s 7 miles to the closest gas station, and even more to the market, so do some grocery shopping on the way in.My only complaints are the complete lack of water pressure, but that might have had something to do with our trip being in the winter time. I also got a flat on the gravel road leading up to the cabin, so bring a tire repair kit to be safe :)

Tree Line Tranquility

Loved the property, it was beautiful on the river. The sound of the water was very tranquil. Overall it was a good stay. We got to experience a real rustic day when there was a power outage in the area. But the cabin was equipped with everything we needed. It was an adventure. I would go there again.

Great Cabin Stay

My friend and I spent a week enjoying this cabin. It was a great location and the river was delightful. The management team was very responsive to our calls and when we had an issue with the hot tub they came out quickly to resolve it. The cabin was also completely bug/spider free which was impressive for a cabin the woods which is likely in part to the cedar lined walls. There are so many positives about this cabin and location. There are hooks for hanging everywhere, kitchen was well stocked for such a small place, the beds were nice, my friend enjoyed the little shelf by the downstairs bed which was very convenient for her phone and ereader, the heated bathroom floor and toilet seat were nice. I could probably keep going but I’ll stop there. We had two minor complaints regarding the property and they definitely would not stop us from coming back. The first is low wattage of light bulbs in the yellow lights. It was just difficult to see with only those on. The second issue was the bathroom walls need to come with a warning. They are a rough cedar which is great but when unfamiliar with it we both gave ourselves splinters while trying to pull towels off the hooks.
