I had a nice apart-hotel style room in this hotel. The location is perfect and very handy for the metros. The staff are welcoming and kind. I've now been twice and would stay again.

Hotel Les Armures is a beautiful boutique gem in the heart of Geneva, right next to the Cathedral. It is charming and romantic, offering an intimate sense of place that larger luxury hotels often lack. Being right next to the owner’s famous fondue restaurant is a standout bonus for any stay. Where it Falls Short I cannot give it five stars because the amenities aren't at that level. Like other hotels in Geneva, the property feels a bit dated. Specifically, the bathroom requires climbing into a high-walled bathtub; my wife and I are in great shape and still found it awkward. It must be very impractical for children or seniors. Additionally, there is no gym on-site. Even more disappointing for a 5-star hotel, they do not provide free access to a nearby facility, only a discount. At this price point, I expect fitness access to be included. Verdict Les Armures has plenty of soul and attentive service. However, the dated bathroom setup and lack of modern facilities keep it from being a true 5-star experience. It’s a very good 4-star stay, but it doesn't quite hit the top-tier luxury mark.

Perfect location. Lovely lobby. Room condition was dated - needs a renovation and design work. Check-in staff were wonderful!

Hotel d’Angleterre offers a stunning lake view and top-tier service, but the experience falls short of its 5-star designation and $1,000+ nightly price tag. It feels like a property resting on its reputation rather than modern quality. The Room & Amenities The hotel is visibly aging and needs an update. While rooms are spacious, the details are disappointing: sparse, unstable outlets in awkward spots and an old bathtub that is difficult to access. There are almost no amenities—not even a coffee maker. Most egregious is the "essentials" menu; charging 9 CHF for shaving cream or 12 CHF for a nail clipper in a $1k/night hotel feels like nickel-and-diming rather than luxury service. Comfort & Facilities Climate control was a major issue. With the AC seemingly off, we had to open windows, leaving us to choose between an uncomfortably hot room or loud street noise. Additionally, there is no on-site gym, which is a standard expectation at this level. Dining & Location Breakfast was unimpressive for the cost. However, the basement cocktail bar is excellent (though pricey). While the lakefront location provides beautiful views, this side of the lake is quiet; expect a 25-minute walk to reach the city's main activity on the other side. Final Verdict If you prioritize a classic view and traditional service, you may be satisfied. However, given the lack of modern comforts and the extra charges for basics, it’s hard to recommend over more updated luxury options in Geneva.

Great customer service. Very friendly front desk, gentleman who works during the daytime. We loved our stay there.
