Very nice hotel and staff was excellent. We booked a Jr Suite with river view, which was plenty large for France, however the road below is extremely busy and very loud. There is also very limited privacy in the bathroom. Shower is wide open and the toilet area has smoked glass providing limited privacy.

Hotel itself is beautiful. Pool and amenities as advertised. Staff are well trained, professional, and very friendly.
The room fit and fondue do not reflect the price - layouts are quite strange, ie. no sink on the same floor as the toilet and shower. And Bring your own mattress because the beds are exceptionally uncomfortable.
Location would be the main reason to stay

I had a really great stay at Villa Maïa in Lyon. The hotel sits up on Fourvière Hill, so the views over the city are absolutely beautiful, especially in the morning and at sunset. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed without feeling over the top. What stood out most was the staff—they were friendly, helpful, and made everything feel easy without being pushy.
The spa area was a nice bonus, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the breakfast was fresh and simple but really well done. The whole place has a calm, quiet atmosphere, which made it feel like a true escape from the busy parts of the city.
Overall, it felt like a perfect mix of luxury and comfort without being pretentious. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Lyon.
