We stayed here back in November and enjoyed it enough that we booked for the MLK holiday weekend, which was priced at a premium. Upon our departure in Nov, I emailed the property managers with some items to attend to, namely, that the gate in the fully fenced backyard is broken, and we managed to keep it upright by leaning a huge fallen tree branch against it. We also noted a lot of dog poo in the yard, and that the tv in one of the bedrooms is completely non functional. When we checked in for our December visit, none of these items had been addressed- in fact, the gate had been removed, and in its place was a board, maybe thigh high, definitely not a fixed fence. TV still broken, ice all over the deck, and the shower drain was clogged. The water in the hot tub was low as well, and didn’t appear to have been serviced before our visit. When I emailed big bear vacations about any of this, I never received a reply. For top dollar, I’d expect more than basic accomodations. The location is good, a few minutes’ walk from the Village, but that’s about it.
