Very Peaceful.Posted Oct 8, 2013 on Hotels
Very peaceful, quite place to stay. Felt right at home. Lynn & Jim are a loving couple that run & operate the B&B. Enjoyed the wildlife while on the front porch. Breakfast was great both mornings. Enjoyed mingling with the other couples during breakfast at the B&B, but did not feel obligated to stay if you wanted to run into town to do the tourist thing. Just 10 minutes from Boone City Limits. Visited the first weekend of October & the weather was in the mid 70s. Autumn was in the air & the leaves were just starting to change colors. Everything was clean & fresh. Would stay here again!

Nice in a PinchPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: The owner was very friendly and eager to please. She was very apologetic about the air conditioning and bathroom situation.
Cons: The downstairs could be tidied up..lots of personal belongings, messy. The website needs to be updated regarding bathroom accommodations.
Location: The bed and breakfast is about 3000 feet up a mountain from Boone. It takes about 20 min to get anywhere. Once there, shopping, restaurants, outdoor ac
We booked this reservation as it was the last room left in Boone, NC for Fall Family Weekend at Appalacian State University. Was hoping to also have a romantic weekend with my husband. The house was extremely old downstairs but clean and had a couple of sitting areas one with a TV. The owner was lovely and eager to please. The upstairs was newer, however our room was one with non working air conditioning and the windows had been kept closed so it took almost 24 hours to cool down even with the fan on. It was very warm and stuffy the first night. By the second night with the windows open it was comfortable. The owner did say she was having problems with the air in that room. Additionally, the reservation was supposed to be with a private bath and we were told that none of the rooms had private baths even though this was advertised and in our confirmation. The room had two double beds and I expected a queen or king....thus our romantic weekend seemed a little awkward. Lastly the inn is at least 20 minutes from anything in Boone and 3000ft up a mountain. It is a winding ride and difficult to find under the best conditions..thankfully our GPS worked...others may not be as lucky. If the weather is rainy or snowy, it would be a dangerous drive in the night time.

DisappointedPosted Sep 4, 2013
Cons: no. location is terrible
Location: Boone was fun
Extremely hard to find even after two days driving in/around. The under forecast weather made it even harder. Fog/ rain / night while driving are to hard and took away any positive on our special occasion. Don't complain if you go after reading this and didn't like it either.
