Lovely Swimming Pool exclusive to residents. Chateau de Villars is nonetheless an upmarket Bed&Breakfast (Chambre d'Hotes); no catering apart from continental style breakfast and should not be marketed on a par with a similarly priced Hotel which would normally come with some level of all day service. "Very exciting staying in a real old chateau, but with the facilities of a very thoughtful full restoration with modern comforts such as a/c, floor heating and huge and beautiful private bathrooms. The site is also very pretty, a large estate well landscaped. Last but not least, Jennifer was a great hostess."

"Amazing place to stay! Host was very communicative, check-in was easy (she met us there), great kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms, and everything was clean. I hope to come back someday!"

"A truly relaxing and gorgeous place to stay with friends and family. Our most memorable part of the stay is the evening meal out on the terrace. We couldn’t disturb anyone else and just loved all being around the large table enjoying each other’s company, surrounded by bucolic scenery. The The rooms are so lovely, but despite the grandeur the chateau just felt so friendly and homely. The pool was also a joy, we all had great fun there. The owners are truly delightful and helpful."

"We had a wonderful time at this location. Beautiful surroundings, a lovely castle, and a house with a pool. Upon arrival, a few things were amiss, and these were addressed and resolved immediately. So the service was very good. The location is good, 4* For a 5* review we advise the owners to do more in terms of maintenance."

"We stayed at the property for our wedding recently and had 40 people in total attending the wedding, with 30 staying on site at both the chateau and gites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the wedding was wonderful. The area is very pretty but pretty isolated. The chateau and gites are beautifully decorated and fully furnished. Victor, the caretaker, was very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, we were let down by a lack of communication with the hosts. Getting further information needed to...

"Good base near the centre of Perigueux. Welcoming staff and great for a stop over. The breakfast selection was however basic and pricey."

"Brief overnight stay going from north to south of france. The private parking was nice, the pool was nice (for the kids, I didn't go down), the extra seating looked nice, but I didn't utilize it. The rooms, while weren't 5 star, were perfectly nice and clean. The only reason i gave it 4 stars for cleanliness was the carpet on the stairs. That should def be replaced. The owners were lovely and helpful. And the town turned out to be great as well."
