Groups greater than 10 (11-14 guests)will be given access to our newly renovated stone barn which holds an additional 4 guests. There is an additional €200 per night fee for the use of the barn. The Sanctuary, a renovated hillside stone cottage overlooking the Gordana River with views of the Apennine National Park. Surrounded by nature and history this villa feels lost in the country yet only 7 minutes by car to the center of lovely Pontremoli for restaurants, shopping and the train station. Centrally located for day trips to Cinque Terre, Parma, Lucca and Florence. The private grounds feature a natural pool, vineyard, fruit trees, walking paths, and a patio with fireplace/bbq.

- Bedroom 1: An upstairs bedroom with queen bed, reclaimed wooden headboard, bedside reading lamps, electric fan, USB ports, an en-suite bathroom, petrified wood fossil sink, walk-in shower and the window faces a small vineyard with insect screen and wooden shutters. Stocked with blankets, sheets, extra pillows, towels, hairdryer and shampoo/body wash.
- Bedroom 2: An upstairs bedroom with queen bed, reclaimed wooden headboard, bedside reading lamps, electric fan, USB ports, a large armoire, a private bathroom across the hall, stone sink, walk-in shower and the window faces a beautiful valley hillside with insect screen and wooden shutters. Stocked with blankets, sheets, extra pillows, towels, hairdryer and shampoo/body wash.
- Bedroom 3: Located on the main floor just off the living room it has a queen bed with an iron four post bed frame, a single built in bed, bedside reading lamps, electric fan, USB ports, en-suite bathroom, walk-in shower, stone sink and two windows both with insect screen and wooden shutters and a loft with two single beds. Stocked with blankets, sheets, extra pillows, towels, hairdryer and shampoo/body wash.
- Bedroom 4: This unique room is located under the house and has its own private entrance and small patio. It was the original wine cellar and is now a bedroom suite with arched stone ceiling, queen bed, iron four post bed frame, USB ports, electric fan, iron wall sconces, two pullout sofa beds, sitting area, en-suite bathroom, petrified wood fossil sink and walk-in shower. Its window with insect screen faces east for nice morning light. Stocked with blankets, sheets, extra pillows, towels, hairdryer and shampoo/body wash.
-Bedroom 5: First floor of the barn. It features huge windows looking out at the mountains.
-Bedroom 6: Ground floor bedroom of the barn. French doors open on to the hot tub patio. > Living/Dining Room: The living room is the perfect place for gatherings.

There is a fireplace and sitting area for relaxing and enjoying a drink. >Laundry Room: complete with new washer and dryer. There is also a clothes line outside. Detergent included. The Grounds: 3 acres of open space, grape vines and fruit trees secluded from the road. Great for children and privacy. There are walking paths from the house leading to the river and small hillside villages. >The Patio: made of stone, it is perfect for outdoor meals and evening drinks by the fire. There is a large table with seating for 12 and a large umbrella for shade during the day. - fireplace/bbq - stone water fountain with steps leading down to a sitting area under a trellis of wisteria. - wood cut and ready to use - a box that contains fire starter and lighters. >The Pool: follow the large stepping stones down to a handmade fresh water pool filtered by a stone bio filter and waterfall keeping the water clear and clean. The pool is circular and measures 7 meters by 7 meters with built in ledges for sitting. There are sun beds, patio furniture for relaxing and pool towels are provided in an outdoor cabinet. One of the oldest churches in Lunigiana is adjacent to us for weddings.
