Beach house review
You really need to up date atleast couches and kitchen table chairs ... i could not sit on those couches they sunk in not good for older people in thier 50s .. kitchen table chairs where so short even 6 ft people looked like they needed something under them. You need more bigger bowls . You allow up to 10 people but only have like 1 big bowl to hold food . But the house was very nice with a beautiful view. Was hard to get to beach because you have to climb over a bunch of drift wood and large ones too. Please clean a trail for people .. a couple of my guest could not climb over the drift wood so could not enjoy beach..

The stay could have been better if you put a new bed and a dresser in room. Most of the dinning room chairs need cushions. The rocking chair was broken. Need new pots and pans. The towels could use an update in bathrooms along with the throw rugs.

WOW! What a view!
Everything was there as "advertised" The private path to beach was blocked by huge dirftwood. Nice hot water in shower and bathroom, but not very hot in kitchen?? Otherwise, it will be a repeat for us. Very well done.

Great ocean views and great beach access
The house sits on a bluff that has a nice view of the ocean. Best of all were the brand new steps down to the beach. Even though there are neighbors, the house felt private and was quiet. The heating system worked great, which was important to us because we were their during a rainy cold period.Nearby Brookings is a great town with all needed services...including a movie theater and a Fred Meyer store.

We have stayed at this location three times in the last 3 years. Love the location! The home could use some updating such as vent fan in the kitchen has mold front door is rusted, front window has a broken seal, the burner does not work on the stove.

Great views and place to gather with family
We enjoyed our stay and Overall we enjoyed the house. As previous reviewers have mentioned the house needs some updates, particularly the cupboards throughout, the towels, the mattresses. The owners just haven’t put much effort into the house. There was a deficit of extra sheets and blankets as well. The view was great and easy access to the beach.

we had a few issues in the kitchen! Only 2 burners worked on the range. The fry pans need to be updated! Even the electric frypan only had 3 legs! And the refrigerator had a leak on the inside so we had to leave a bowl in it!!! Otherwise we had a wonderful time!

Ocean get away
The house was great we had a great time. It was nice to just step out of the house and walk 2 minutes to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked all you need are groceries. Only complaints were the throw rugs smelled of chemicals and the bedrooms need dresser or table no where to set anything except floor. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are In Brookings.

We were so excited that we were so close to the beach and had such a glorious view from the house & deck. The neighborhood was beautiful with pride of ownership all around. We were a little disappointed that the cupboards & drawers in kitchen & bathrooms were not clean & lined properly (appeared unsanitary). Also, towels provided for bathrooms were stained & didn't seem clean & fresh as would be expected for VRBO. Also, minor updates to kitchen utensils & electric fry pan would make big difference. As mentioned in previous reviews, the master bedroom window needs to be replaced as you can't see out of it and side crank windows do not shut properly. Overall, the surroundings are beautiful, we had a great time, including our pup, and we will definitely stay again. We thank God we were able to find such a great home away from home for our vacation!

Not clean enough for my liking
My family and I have stayed here 3 times over the last 6 years and this was probably the last time. The good: we continued to stay here because it's affordable for 6 of us, and we love the beach access. Now the bad: on first inspection it's clean. It's vacuumed and wiped down. But as you use the house all the deferred maintenance becomes obvious and kind of gross. There's mold on the grout, the air filters (which you can see in the hallway) are filthy, the bathroom fans are rusted, loud and clanky. Inside some of the kitchen drawers are sticky. All the kitchen supplies are old, scratched non stick pans, melted plastic utensils. The place smells like mildew. The towels are falling apart. And I think worst of all the mattresses are terrible. The one in the master is covered in stains it's nearly brown. The beach access is convenient but needs maintenance. You have to climb over branches, dodge blackberries, duck under trees. Our kids couldn't walk it without help. I could go on.

Great Place
This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It has enough bedrooms and beds for our group of nine. The beach is easy to access and close. Plus not very many people on the beach so seems private. The house is close to town for getting groceries and also to do day trips like the Redwoods/Smith River hiking and Boardman State park hiking.

We loved the view and the front bedroom was awesome to sleep in with waves crashing all night! A good set up for a family with kids with a separate third bedroom with multiple beds. Beautiful window view from kitchen and living room. Only down side is that This place has the feel of a rental- not a lot of cozy or personal touches but the thing that could really make it better is clearing up the shrub etc blocking the view of the ocean- it’s such a great view . We enjoyed our stay. The stairs down to the beach and the climb over the driftwood were an adventure. Pelicans and spectacular wood shapes and rocks!

The property was great. Beautiful view of the ocean. Very clean. We did have to climb over lots of driftwood logs to get to the beach but it was fine. We would definitely stay again, just not plan dinner on the beach.

Great ocean view!
The ocean view is stunning! We appreciated the quiet neighborhood away from the highway. The stairs to the beach from the property were broken, but there are public beach access points nearby with a short walk or drive. The beds were great. The kitchen had all the pots/pans, utensils, and spices we needed. The home was clean, although a few webs in some of the windows. It was the perfect size our family getaway with 10 people. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay. Stayed here last year and it was great, had to come back again this year. Last year there we had access to the beach, this year there was not. It’s under construction. So just be aware that there is no private beach access like they used to have until they fix it.

My husband and I stayed stayed and had a wonderful long weekend. The rest of our family could not make it through the storm. The house has a beautiful view. Quiet neighborhood, house is very clean and large for a family. I one thing that we were disappointed in was there is no beach access at this time. It is in bold letters on the house description and that is the reason we rented it.

This house has absolutely wonderful views of the ocean, and the living areas are set up to maximize it. It's an outstanding location and arrangement for ocean gazing. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. The furniture could use some upgrading, but it was fine and good value for the money. Would be good to upgrade several of the mattresses for better sleep. The only big problem was that the stairs to the beach are seriously broken and cordoned off, and this was not mentioned in the description. We went through anyway the first day, but it was truly unsafe. There was no info on alternative routes to access the beach but a few of us made our way down on other days, probably trespassing but no one yelled at us. Would definitely stay here again, but I would check that the stairs have been repaired.

Watch out for the slugs
Property is pretty much what most said, it is a older place that could use some sprucing up but enjoyed our stay, beautiful views from the deck and just enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood and the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach. Watch out for the slugs our little puppies wake up early and when we would take them out first thing in the morning lots and lots of slugs to watch for (thank goodness we don't have at home, creepy!!)

The view was better than expected. The place was bigger than expected. The neighborhood was very nice and convenient to multiple towns and hikes in the woods. It was nice having a washer and dryer. The hall closet had a strong ocean smell so be weary when looking for blankets. The beach is as good as it gets. I would love to go back. Three beds were spacious with comfortable beds. This is our second time staying at this property and we are never disappointed in the view! It's a quiet neighborhood, and the house is very comfortable. This was our 4th trip to the house, we started coming in 2014. We have always loved it, the location, steps to the beach… all of it. We do wish you would put a head/footboard on the master, or change bed frame. Your pots n pans are getting sparse so we bring our own and sure wish there were more containers. I’m going to try to do this property some justice. I read the listing and the reviews and was nervous on if this place would be a hit or miss. I say hit. As soon as I walked in and saw the amazing view I knew it was a hit! The view is amazing and the pictures on this listing do not do it justice. It’s one in a million. The walk way to the beach and the river is less than a minute (myself and 3 small children) and I didn’t find it too steep at all. The place is older, there is a smell to it, it could use new windows, the pots and pans were limited (I took one pot and one pan of my own since other reviews had mentioned it) and it could use general updating but if all that was done the price would be way more. So did I fee like I got what I paid for? 110% yes! It rained a lot while we stayed there so we were indoors a lot so we got very familiar with this house. I will note I thought my 3 children would sleep in the room with multiple beds but it is way across the house from the other bedrooms and behind possibly two doors (if you shut them), so if you are traveling with others and want privacy that could be a great option, but for small children I didn’t see it as the best option. There were two rooms near each other on the other side of the house so we worked it out and had no issues but it is something I think someone out there may want to know. I did find the place overall cleaned very well and did have to contact property management a few times and found them very nice and helpful. We plan to go back to Brookings next year again and would consider this place again. The neighborhood is very quite which is exactly what we wanted.

Beach is just a staircase away
We had a few issues with housekeeping. There were clothes left in one of the bathrooms, hair in the tub, and bugs in the hallway outside the 3rd bedroom. I did advise the property manager about the bugs when I checked out. The location is on a dead-end street with large hedges for privacy. The view is outstanding and beach access can't be beat down a staircase. Even at high tide there is still beach available for walking. The house is comfortable but well worn. The king mattress is very soft and needs replacing. You should have everything you need for a reasonable stay but don't expect this to be a top shelf accommodation. All in all, we enjoyed easy access to the beach and had a relaxing time.

Rented for 3 families. View and access to ocean is fantastic. Loved the beautiful sunsets. Very dog friendly friendly. House needs a deep clean, smelled of mildew. Bedroom 1 & 2 are fine, third room has queen bed with 2 twin beds. Third room had piles of dead pill bugs that we had to sweep up from carpet that needs replacing. Kitchen drawers full of crumbs, pans need replacing. Beach towels would be a nice addition. Outdated? No biggie. Dirty and musty? Not good and an easy fix by management.
