This place is just as described, a cute, well-kept old farmhouse brought up to date but retaining its character. It's on a short dead-end road up a pleasant hollow, at the foot of the road there is the Cane River for fishing. The house is well-kept, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the place was very clean and orderly.
The front porch was a great place to read and relax, particularly on rainy days (we had a couple). Behind the small back patio is a steep bit of pasture running up to the top of the ridge, from where there are amazing views.
Close enough to Burnsville to run down for a restaurant meal, far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Our fave Laura's Trattoria was temporarily closed due to flooding, but Hog Hollow Pizza and Pig & Grits were new to us and very good, and Snapdragon was good as well.
Altogether this was a great place to stay and we enjoyed it very much.
