I come to Cairns often. Rooms are neat and tidy and spacious. Lake Street has some unsavoury folk and was awoken to some yelling matches in the middle of the night but can’t blame the accommodation for that.

Great little spot to stay for a couple of days, two streets back from the esplanade. Was clean and tidy, could have had a small frypan for cooking did have a microwave, toaster and a jug. Fry pan would of been handy.

I flew into Cairns a few days early before joining a tour group. While Escape On Lake is small compared to the more notable accommodation, it is good value. Checkin was easy, and despite missed messages by both myself and the hotel, they had the room ready by lunchtime. Very welcoming after an early morning flight! The room was spacious with good facilities including a microwave for basic cooking needs. The main city centre of Cairns is one block down the street, so quite easy to walk around exploring then back to the hotel. All in all, good value

Almost everything to recommend about staying here. Very clean and spacious rooms. Quiet and easily accessible. My feedback is to have the number of towels and extra blankets for each guest. A hand towel would have been appreciated and used. Booked 2 rooms. One had AC you could only turn down to 21 degrees but the other room could be set cooler for sleeping. Extra keys are needed when you are a family of adults coming in and out at different times. Great location and responsive hosts. Great value all over.

Not right for us.

Not so good for seniors as no lift. Stairs steep and raisers short plus one huge step at the bottom. Night light only comes on when you reach the top. Beds not ever made up by housekeeping. Only one chair at the table when booked for 2. Air con turned off by owners repeatedly so hot and stuffy upon return. Location excellent though.large room, hot shower. Beds good too

Room 3 at the front of Escape on Lake was nice, clean,modern, small but comfortable for 2 adults and we stayed 3 nights. Close to the centre of Cairns it is a quick walk to local eateries and also a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and also where the ferries leave for Green Island and Fitzroy. We were given clean towels each day, nice but would have been happy with one st for 3 days. On the down side it was noisy at night periodically, which disturbed my sleep. The rooms themselves are above a car rental place and are up one set of stairs. There is no parking only street parking which is metered at certain hours.
