“We had a lovely stay ant the location is as expected in a great little part of the national park. The place is as in the pictures and whilst we didnt use the pool it looks fab and the hot tub was ideal. The local restaurant was very welcoming and the nearby old bridge could hsve been a scene out of Brigadoon..... fantastic. There are the useual few quirkes with staying in older remote towns but it shouldn't put you off as presumably if you are looking at staying here you will appreciate that……

“Ganz tolle Unterkunft in einer genialen Umgebung! Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Der Pool ist unglaublich. Er ist riesig, ideal zum Schwimmen und Spaß haben. Die Wohnung ist auch riesig und hat drei Badezimmer. Alles topp. Auch die Außenanlagen sind topp. Der Ort selbst ist wunderbar. Die Einheimischen super hilfsbereit, nett und noch überhaupt nicht durch Tourismus betroffen. Man kann so richtig eintauchen in diese Gemeinschaft. ”

“Casa da Fonte is nestled in one of the sweetest villages within Gerês. This place was a good value for price. However, we had major issues with check in. We sent inquiries about check in days before and received no response. We didn’t get our check in information until after the check in time, forcing us to sit in a fierce, cold rain storm. The place smelled like cigarettes and the host is not on site/wasn’t responsive. However, we may have been a one off. Everybody has a bad day and we hope……
