Car Rental América

There's heaps to do in América, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Pick up a set of wheels and you can cruise around the surrounding region at your leisure. Add these awesome destinations to your itinerary:

• Bento Goncalves is around 90 miles from América. Famous tourist attractions like Casa Valduga Winery deserve to be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Your next pit stop? Make it Santa Maria, which is around 95 miles away. Royal Plaza Shopping is one local hot spot you really shouldn't miss.
• Get into the outdoors and breathe in some fresh air at Caracol Park. You'll find it around 130 miles from América.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Brazil, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before sliding behind the wheel. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or off road with a rental vehicle.
