Car Rental América

When you've covered all the well-known places in América, there's a lot more to explore in the surrounding region. Collect the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and get going. We've pulled together some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Arapiraca Garden Shopping Center and loads of other amazing sights in Arapiraca. From América, it's about 85 miles away.
• Your next stop? Alagoinhas, which is around 120 miles away. Antonio de Figueiredo Carneiro Municipal Stadium is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Praia do Forte Beach is about 130 miles from América and is one of the region's most gorgeous nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Brazil, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some additional requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before sliding behind the wheel. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on off-road areas with a rental vehicle.
