When you've visited all of the terrific attractions in Coxos Beach, there's a lot more to see in the surrounding area. Grab the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and get out on the open road. These are some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• Head to Coimbra for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Roughly 100 miles from Coxos Beach, it's home to numerous amazing attractions such as Portugal dos Pequenitos.
• Next stop? Make it Setubal, which is around 45 miles away. Galapos Beach is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Get into the great outdoors and take in the serenity at Rocha Beach. It's approximately 140 miles from Coxos Beach.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Portugal, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles you can rent.
