There's heaps to do in Kongjia'an Subdistrict, but head farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can meander around the greater area at your own pace. Add these awesome destinations to your itinerary:

• Linxia is about 55 miles from Kongjia'an Subdistrict. Well-known tourist spots like Liujiaxia Dinosaurs National Geologic Park of Gansu deserve to be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Next stop? Make it Baiyin, which is around 40 miles away. Tiemu Mountain is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Jiuzhai Valley National Park is located 200 miles from Kongjia'an Subdistrict and is one of the region's most scenic nature spots. Go for a wander around and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in China, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before you drive off the lot. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental vehicle.
