After you've visited all of the well-known attractions in Quinta del Mar, there's plenty more to see in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, toss your luggage in the trunk and get out there. We've pulled together some road trips we're confident you'll love:

• Ensenada is about 45 miles from Quinta del Mar. Popular sights like First Street should be at the top of your list here.
• Your next pit stop? Consider Mexicali, which is around 95 miles away. Plaza La Gran Via is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
• Get out into the great outdoors and appreciate the serenity at Malecón San Felipe. It's approximately 160 miles from Quinta del Mar.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you might need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on off-road areas with a rental car.
