Car Rental São Paulo

After you've been to all of the fabulous places in São Paulo, there's loads more to see in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, pack your bags in the trunk and hit the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll discover Barigui Park and countless other intriguing sights in Curitiba. From São Paulo, it's around 100 miles away.
• Why not check out all that's on offer in Florianópolis too? Major sights in this colorful city include Mole Beach. Florianópolis is roughly 50 miles from São Paulo.
• Make tracks to Caracol Park to rediscover nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just recharge your batteries in the fresh air. From São Paulo, it's approximately 220 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Brazil, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. You should also be aware that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before getting behind the wheel. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or off road with your rental car.
