There's heaps to do in Sochi City Centre, but venture farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding region at your leisure. Add these fantastic places to your list:

• Krasnodar is around 110 miles from Sochi City Centre. Famous tourist attractions like SBS Megamall should be high on your list here.
• Next stop? Consider Novorossijsk, which is around 120 miles away. Novorossiysk State Historical Museum Reserve is one local draw card you won't want to miss.
• Mount Elbrus is approximately 140 miles from Sochi City Centre and is one of the region's most breathtaking nature spots. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Russia, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:
