Right in the city centre. The hotel itself is traditional and feels older. However, it is immaculate and clean. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't eat or drink in the hotel, but the bar looked cosy. I would stay here again. Felt very safe as a solo traveller."Reviewed November 3, 2026Roundtrip • New York (JFK) - Birmingham (BHX)JFK - BHX • 1 stop BHX - JFK • 1 stop$2,636$2,469found 2 days agoper traveler

"Fantastic hotel and pub, very cosy and set in a fab location. The room we stayed in was delightful, very large with great amenities. Food was very tasty and the breakfast was plentiful and hot with a good variety of continental and hot breakfast items to choose from (full English including veggie option). Royal Hotel Ross On Wye by Greene King Inns"We had a large room with a wonderful view of the winding river and beyond. Staff excellent; friendly and extremely helpful. Food was good altough the dining room was a bilt lacking in character. Very good location."
"It was a lovely place to stay. Staff, rooms and food so nice would love to stay there again"
"It is a lovely little hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location is excellent for Hereford just 7 minutes away. We used it as a base and visited Hereford Cathedral and the Old House Museum in Hereford, Croft Castle, Leominster, Ledbury (not to be missed) Ross on Wye and Goodrich Castle. All less than 45 mins. away. Also some of the Black and White villages north of the City. Would definitely recommend this hotel and also a trip to...
"Great stay very friendly staff nothing too much trouble, excellent location, our 2nd stay here and have booked again for next year Highly recommended"
