The cafe had terrible service and the room had no heating, so I had to switch rooms. Mattress was uncomfortable. No other eating choices around.

I guess this hotel is slated for a knock-down. It is really old, out of date, and needs a good cleaning. I was in a non-smoking room, and there was a cigarette butt on my bed!! The air conditioning didn't work, and the 2 portable fans in the room did not work. The restaurant had no dinner service. I was very pleased with the staff. They were polite, efficient, and accommodating.

The Biltmore is an very old property that looks it. It is in sad shape. We had what they call a cottage in a separated building which had four units on the bottom floor and four units on the top floor. There were several of these "cottages". The exteriors are in great need of TLC. The room itself had been painted well, new carpet and a comfortable bed. The furniture was cheap and the armchairs had dirty upholstery. It had a large walk in closet which had a roll away bed, extra blanket, and a safe. Yet with plenty of hanging space there was no hangers. Bathroom was a good size, fairly clean but old tiling and sink. No counter space. Good towel rack but place to high on the wall. Towels are short and thin. Also there was hair in the shower when we arrived. There is a nice pool and hot tub and that all seemed clean. The grounds need a lot of work especially the sidewalks. In the main building is where you can find the one and only ice machine on the third floor. Elevator really shows it's age and was iffy on working. Place smells like cigarret smoke even though there were very few people in the casino area. They have a cafe but we didn't try it. It offers very little in amenities. There is a good working hair dryer in the bathroom. Sheets on the bed are cheap and too short. Also, the other clientele are noisy during the night. It's a shame that the owners aren't updating the property. It's a piece of history of Tahoe.

Where do I start? Front desk check in was wonderful, polite, courteous and fast. Room…stairs to the room are rickety and I almost fell off. Both lamps next to the bed didn’t work and I saw why-not plugged in…why? No outlets. Shower was hot but had a leak so water sprayed everywhere, onto the ceiling and over the curtain. Had shampoo but no conditioner. No desk for me to work on, no ice, no sheer curtains so either everyone could look in my room or I had a dark room. AC worked great but couldn’t change the temp from 60 to anything else. No coffee maker and was told to go to the bar for coffee the next morning when I was checking out. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay however I would hire the front desk young lady or the bartender as they were super friendly, polite and definitely did the best they could.
