"The staff was very helpful, we needed some ibuprofen, and the front desk representative, ordered it on his phone, and brought it to us. The bed is super comfortable, we loved the pillows and the sheets so much, that we took pictures of the labels. LOL. Brakfast included is njce, fresh fruit is good, coffee too. The only thing we wish was better, is the bathroom. My husband is 6 foot 2. He had a very tough time in the smallest bathroom we have ever seen. Without a single window, it becomes a sauna after a shower, which creates mold. Theres a really big concrete closet across the room, turn it into a nice bathroom! We loved everything else about this hotel. We will be back, the energy is beautiful. "

"My dad, brother and I just spent 4 nights at guayaba inn and it was fantastic. Its 10 mins away from the main square and some of San Cristobal‘s main sights. The rooms surround a gorgeous garden with tropical flowers and a koi fish pond. Breakfast is included and although the options are limited, everything is delicious. The only issue we had was that we didn’t have hot water in our rooms but the manager Julio got this fixed promptly and offered us to do our laundry for free as compensation. 10 out 10."

"This a new and 5 star quality boutique hotel that can easily be compared to St Regis or Ritz Carlton! We stayed here for 5days and had a wonderful time as a family! During our stay here in July 2025, we felt we were the only guests in this hotel which felt strange. We also ate at their restaurant where we saw very few guests but were not staying in the hotel. All the staff from rest, bar, front desk and housekeepers were professional, courteous, and kind. The only drawbacks to this hotel was location. It was a distance away from the plaza and Centro. Uber doesn't work in Chiapas so hailing a taxi takes time from the hotel. The solution, befriend a local taxi driver and text them when you want them to pick you up. A few suggestions to even elevate this hotel: 1) have a heated pool (no other luxury hotel in San Cris has a pool). There is a garden courtyard where a pool can fit on one side of the walkway. 2) have hair dryers in the bathrooms. Strange that a lux hotel didn't have one (or is it only upon request?)."

"Be aware that this is a museum that has rooms to rent, not a luxury hotel. That said, if you’re looking for a contemplative stay in a beautiful room surrounded by artifacts, this is your hotel. Wonderful staff, good restaurant, coffee house in a garden across the street. Did I mention the incredibly helpful staff? A nice walk 30 minutes to the town center. Can’t wait to return. "
