Cedar Knolls Vacations from $346

Spent 3 days here on a pre Xmas visit. Nice enough hotel lobby and adjacent bar as you enter, friendly staff but busy and maybe need more available at busy times. Room OK and clean enough but would have been better if a little bigger. Disappointed that the daily hotel extra charge was more than Expedia advised. This needs clarified.

Lovely staff. Incredible property. The hype is real. This is by far and away the nicest property we’ve stayed at in Manhattan in a long time.

Overall, our stay was alright. The hotel itself was nice, and the staff were all friendly. However, we had issues with the toilet, sink, and heat in our room. The toilet made very loud sounds constantly, the sink leaked, and the heat didn’t regulate well, made loud clunky noises, and cold air seeped in from where the window AC unit was. Would recommend as a cheap place to stay near Times Square, but definitely had its issues.

We were looking for a quick overnight in the East End, and the Harpoon House exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was spacious (a suite!) and well-appointed, blending the charm of the original 1648 (!) building with modern amenities and furnishings. We didn't take advantage of the on-property restaurant (formerly Blu Mar), but the menu - by acclaimed chef Rocco DiSpirito - looked excellent, if a bit pricey. Location was ideal, within easy walking distance of all Main Street shops and restaurants, and less than a mile to the beach. And, although things were a bit quieter than in the height of summer - not a bad thing! - we loved being out there for the fall harvest season, with wineries and farms in full swing. All-in-all, our stay at the Harpoon House made for a perfect fall weekend in the Hamptons - highly recommended.
