Mostly a run down part of town. All properties on this side of town are the cheaper option. Just the nature of the beast. Everting was very kind and polite. Outside (the grounds are neglected.) needs attention but no different than the other property’s in the area. Just the residence inn next door is out of place because it is neeer and well cared for.

Its not the safest neighborhood. But the place itself is decent. It was clean. Breakfast was okay. I have had better but also worse. Overall not a terrible place to stay.

Second Stay
Furniture is beaten up a bit but it clean, the internet was fast, staff was excellent and I didn’t get robbed. That’s about all you can hope for in Cedar Rapids.

The hotel staff was excellent, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable the pillows where great and the bedspread I would of loved to take home , breakfast was different but good overall I would stay there again I felt safe and it was clean and staff was excellent.

I should’ve trusted the reviews
Hotel was dirty. Furniture (recliner) in room was old and broken, carpet was soiled. Towels were stained and room smelled moldy and was dark. First bad experience I have had using hotels.com.

The smell was awful: a mix of musty and stale smoke. The bathroom door was warped and didn’t fully shut. The mirror in the bathroom and the tv stand/dresser/mini fridge was distressed, but not in a shabby chic way, just old and chipped. Most of the outlets did not work. The lock on the door at the back of the building did not lock properly. Will not be back.

Smell of cigarette smoke entering. Strong odor in room. No blankets on bed. Coffee pot had no grounds holder and leaked all of the water on to the dresser. Asked for a refund and they immediately complied.

I had to wait at the check-in counter about 10 minutes before someone showed up. When I got to the room, the refrigerator wasn't working. I had to go back to the check-in counter to get a different room. The 2nd room was okay.

Comfortable stay and some extra choices at breakfast than we have had at other places recently. I couldn’t open the window, which is always a mark down… and had it opened it is always a good safety measure for there to be a blocker so that it can’t be easily opened fully from outside when on the ground floor.. this has been helpful in other motels.
