Overall it's a great place to stay!
My room was on the 12th floor - possibly where the fancier rooms are, because the normal day rate shown on the screen next to the front desk shows my room is in the expensive tier... I really had no idea until the moment I checked in.
The room was nice and clean. Name everything a decent hotel room is supposed to have and it's there. It's even got powered curtains that can be opened or shut by touching certain bedside buttons. Different levels of lighting in the room. A bluetooth speaker and a body weight scale! No bathtub but that's totally okay for me.
If anything got me going "oh well"... The toilet "room" (it's separated from the shower and the sink by a glass door) constantly smelt like sewer. Turning the ventilator on wouldn't help. Fortunately the smell could be contained within the glass door.
Fun fact 1: the AC will only give you hot air in the winter. It makes total sense. Just my room was almost too warm even without the AC on. I'd love to have had the ability to cool it down...
Fun fact 2: recessed lighting! Great! Except when you lie in bed there's a light right above your eyes. Press the "TV mode" button and these lights will be turned off. I don't know why anybody would design the lights this way but interestingly it's the same in Ji Hotels. Maybe it's a feature of their product line...
Plenty of small to hole-in-the-wall local restaurants within walking distance! At least 1 decent bakery.
