The advertising includes breakfast. There is no breakfast because the kitchen is being rebuilt. No vouchers for anywhere else to eat and no discount. The wallpaper in the hallways and room is literally falling off the walls. Granted they are doing a remodel, but there is no excuse for hair all over the bathroom wall which was not mine or my wife's. I already posted comments and received a form letter apology about the renovation but nothing else. Will never stay again and being that we have a daughter we visit and Charleston is a good stopping place, we will find elsewhere. This place has no desire to cure.

Was decent once, failed a second visit

First stay there was fine -- minor cosmetic issues and no breakfast service, but location is central to Charleston sites. Second visit, the wallpaper in hall and room was bubbled and peeling, parts of the ceiling and bathroom were mid-repair. It took a full 10 minutes for the shower water to get warm at all. Front desk person during the day was Curt. A month between visits and still no breakfast service. They blamed it on Reno, but room was ready to be used. Parking is ample and convenient. Microwave and fridge worked. TV turned on and off randomly. No ice or vending on the floor.

Caution

No working breakfast area. When only three cars in the parking lot it gives you pause. Staff were nice. Room clean. Bed uncomfortable. Not recommended. My wife would. It have gone in if she was by herself.

I've stayed at this hotel on several occasions, visiting relatives in the area. It's always been a safe, comfortable place to stay, and the staff have always been friendly and quick to help with any need. It's an older building, and it shows, but I've never had a bad stay here. They're being acquired by Wyndham and there are signs in the lobby showing the planned changes. During my most recent stay (end of January 2017) the hotel kitchen was being renovated as part of the transition, so there was no breakfast available, just a coffee station. Since my room had a mini-fridge and a microwave, I just picked up some goodies at the nearest grocery store and made my own. It's not dazzling, but if you're looking for a pleasant place to stay in a convenient location at a reasonable price, this fills the bill. Unless they raise their rates substantially, I plan to keep booking a room here when I'm passing through Charleston.

Close to my work

We called and asked if we could wash clothes there and they said yes. I was checking in that night. When i arrived and got my work clothes ready. The laundry part was under contrstion along with the breakfast room. I had to wear dirty clothes to work no one likes to do that.. But the room was clean. So thats kinda a plus

C+. Comfortable room but thin walls. Noisy. Under renovation so no breakfast or gym. Amenities too few to warrant full price. Poor coffee.

NASTY

It was horrable. Nasty rooms. Dirty sheets and mattress pads and mattress. Dirty floors, bathrooms and bed skirt.
