I was so excited to book a stay here because my mom and I have stayed at other hotels near and always loved Planters Inn and thought how classy it looked and elegant. Unfortunately footing a bill for a high amount per night to check in and not have the phone in the room working, more than 1 outlet not working, it was a larger room or suite but bellman didn't even know there was a fridge in the room then for him to leave and say he'd grab one and then see the mini fridge under the vanity area between the closets but couldn't call him because the phone didn't work, the electrical blinds would not go up and down evenly and it was only one controlling the larger windows, king size bed but needed a stoll that I had to ask for when going up and down to the front desk due the phone not working, empty wrappers on the floor near the bed from who knows who, the rug in the bedroom/living area had a rug under the 2 rocker chair and table in front of the TV was stained in multiple areas and the rug looked like something you would put outside on a patio. Very disappointed in the large amount of money per night and potential with such a beautiful property to miss these simple customer service marks like a working phone (guess they didn't care about room service orders either) and have a stool under all the king size bed (there was plenty of visible room) to have facility and maintenance check all the outlets/ phones/blinds/rugs etc prior was beyond sad and disappointing. Will not stay again

Returning guest after many years. The staff were fantastic from the door greeting to the desk staff. Beautiful property in great shape. We love the Relais & Chateau affiliation...always an indicator of a great time. Dined at their restaurant and had an expensive but fantastic meal.

Classic Charleston hotel. Our room was very spacious. You just need to make sure it's not on Meeting St., because it's noisy. There were a few maintenance issues that needed attention....ceiling air conditioning vent rattled, & the shower drain was slow. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were nice. I expected my room to be “Grand” as it was called, but I got the short end of the stick. They gave the “Grand” room to my friend who accompanied me on my trip. My room was dark, only had one window with a view of the side of a building, and I love natural sunlight so that was very disappointing. The bed was comfortable though, and I wish there was a refrigerator in the room so that the water they provided could’ve been kept cold.

Planter's Inn and Peninsula restaurant are absolutely phenomenal! Easily 5 stars across the board! The staff is amazing, beautiful rooms and the food at Peninsula is second to none.

We had a delightful stay at the Planters Inn. Staff was all friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the coffee, tea, and treats in the lounge each day. Beds were very comfortable and the room size of the double queen exceeded my expectations! The bathroom was clean and updated. Loved that the Planters Inn was centrally located and we walked to shops and restaurants easily. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel! Superb staff who were helpful with dining suggestions and directions to rooftop bars. Peninsula Grill is awesome for dinner but equally good for breakfast.

The Planter’s Inn is the only Relais and Chateau property in South Carolina. As such, you can expect a French flair for beauty and tradition. Expect old charm and excellent food!
