Checked in really late and the room smells bad. Specially the bathroom, the housekeeper left the dirty towels from the guest before us and her cleaning stuff is still in the bathroom. Toilet is dirty and smells like someone throw up in the toilet. my family was tired and didn’t want to change rooms anymore so I ended up cleaning the toilet making sure that the smell was gone. Disappointing stay as a Marriot bonvoy member.

We have stayed here before. Since then the breakfast has become terrible. Scrambled eggs have been replaced by prepackaged what they call quiche in plastic wrap inside the warmer. Same thing with self serve waffles – prepackaged in plastic wrap.

Very comfy and quiet. I liked the location. Not too far from downtown. The hospitality was great. Only complaint is that the housekeeping woke me up about 9am ringing the doorbell even though check out wasn't until 12pm.

Exceeded my expectations
This property exceeded my expectations! I stayed here because of a family wedding in Charleston, and followed another family member in booking this place (without really doing any other research). Upon check in, I was impressed by the beautiful lobby, the complimentary breakfast & how nice my room was! Overall very clean, breakfast was a nice touch & it was closer to everything (by car) than I was expecting. I would stay here again.

Excellent Breakfast
Check in was great. The 1st room we were given, the door was open, tv on, dirty sheets and blankets on a chair, pillows on the floor, bed was bare, dirty towels on the bathroom floor. Called front desk they gave us another room. What ever mechanical unit outside our room was very loud. Breakfast was excellent! I will diffidently stay here again. They need to make sure rooms they give out are clean.

We stayed 4 days. I received a text informing us that our room was ready ( this was about 2 hours early) so that was very good news,as we were traveling. The 2 bedroom suite was GREAT!! very roomy, clean and it had most everything that you might need in the kitchen area. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was also good, very good selection of hot / cold foods, coffee was very good. I would highly recommend this site. Very convenient to most places, close to downtown, Patriots Point.

My bathroom floor was not clean(long hairs and dirt on the floor the moment I first walked in the room). My shower the first night I was there was luke warm at best. I felt like the room's water temperature was fairly cool throughout the room, not hot whatsoever. I'm a person who likes hot/steamy showers. Some small repairs need to be made to the room in which i stayed in. I was hoping to go out on the balcony and enjoy myself but I couldn't because of a beehive. If I wasn't allergic to bee stings, I certainly wouldn't complain about it in this review. I feel like hotels/resorts should take more pride into making sure guests feel safe and have a clean room if they are spending a decent amount of money.

We had an amazing stay at Residence Suite! Clean, convenient and 10 minutes from Downtown Charleston. Our room is spacious with a kitchen and a living room, we wish we could have stayed a little longer but we’ll definitely come back again soon!

Melanie at the front desk was friendly and knowledgeable. But the hotel was noisy, smelled of weed and breakfast was COMPLETELY wiped out by 9:50am. I would not stay here again.

This got to be the WORST Residence Inn we've ever stayed in. We travel to Canada and US every few months and we usually stay at Residence Inn 4-5 times every year and we have NEVER been at a place this bad. To summary how bad this was - - no door tags - some magnets on the fridge not sure where we are supposed to put them on the door. - the room smelled musty and the bathroom was even worse! - floors (non-carpeted area) all sticky - when we first got into the room, there was a dead cockroach on the kitchen floor with some shells and the last night when we picked up a cleaned mug, there was a cockroach in it - carpet was not cleaned or vacuumed as our dog picked up a paper clip and some staples from it - carpet has seen better days - baseboard half falling off the dresser and drawers were sticky so I kept all my clothing in my luggage - bedding smelled not the cleanest and the extra beddings in the closet were not bagged, just piled up on top so not sure if they were clean or not - one of the electrical plug was loose on the wall, and almost fell off the wall when I tried to plug my laptop in - bathroom had ripped wallpaper - kitchen appliances all bang up For paying $200/night for a room this is more like a motel room. Management needs to read this review and do some serious work and bring this up to the Marriott standards. Whoever is thinking of booking here, please read this review and also previous reviews.
