A lovely house in peaceful location
The house is in a peaceful location on Lower Mill Estate, with views over a quiet lake and just a few minutes walk to the amenities. The hosts were excellent, providing comprehensive information before and during the stay and useful information on the local area. We enjoyed our stay at the house. Our only negative is the futon in the second bedroom - ok for children but not comfortable for adults. Overall a lovely relaxing stay.

Fab family break to wind down together
Communication with owners quick & helpful from the first message through & to the end of our break. Location of property great - in quiet area next to a gated private. Does mean you may walk a little further than some properties, but..we liked the quieter location. floor to ceiling views excellent. Access to 2 adult bikes & kayak, we didn’t use the bikes as have 2 children, but.great for exploring , we did have fun with the kayak plus our own paddleboards! Lower Mill indoor & outdoor pools very much enjoyed. Balli Hoo restaurant.. food amazing & customer service (particularly Sarah)…. Way above a lot of restaurants! Great comfortable property that included bikes, kayaks & spa access, can’t get too much closer to nature unless you camp!

A peaceful and luxurious property.
The house was beautiful overlooking the lake at the end of the estate. Quite a walk to restaurant and spa, however, it was therefore peaceful at all times. We stayed during a heatwave which was wonderful but there was no fans or air conditioning making the house uncomfortable as upstairs became extremely hot. The house is stocked with everything making it a home from home. The second bedroom needed proper beds as the futon was not ideal for two teenagers; the master bedroom was wonderful. The main restaurant served amazing food and we had a lovely meal for my husband’s birthday there. The staff were excellent and made it a fully enjoyable evening. The Spa was fantastic with the multiple pools. There could have been a few more sun beds at the property as there was a terrace outside the main bedroom but no seating. The hosts sent regular communication leading up to our stay and the bottle of fizz that awaited us was a lovely touch. Overall it was an enjoyable stay in a unique and luxurious house.

A wonderful away from it all stay
This is a beautiful property in an idyllic position on the lower mill estate. We loved sitting on the deck watching the wildlife and listening to the bird song. We arrived with a long list of cultural sights to see but got no further than exploring local villages by bike, walking along the Thames path, canoeing on the lake and using the lovely pool. We couldnt fault any aspect of our stay, the house is wonderful, Vals communication is prompt and helpful and the little extras made it even more special.

Perfect holiday!
The location is astonishing... the scenery that you can enjoy from the living room is absolutely amazing. We were also able to enjoy swimming in indoor & outdoor pools, playing tennis and cycling everyday. The property also comes with a canoe that could be used in nearby lakes, which we simply ran out of time and could not try! Lovely Cotswolds area are within less than 1 hour drive and it was so nice visiting various places. The property is very well maintained and Val has been an amazing host in making sure our holiday a very comfortable one. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous stay
Beautiful place with everything you could possibly need whilst away from home even including sellotape! A fantastic property on a lovely calm estate. We made good use of the canoe which is there for use of renters and managed to see plenty of wildlife. I cannot fault the property in any way - it was absolutely stunning. Owing to covid restrictions it was hard to reserve slots at the pools as it was booked up 2 weeks in advance which was frustrating. We did however manage to get in most days by just turning up and asking if anyone had not taken their slot. Equally the restaurant and spa were both booked up two weeks in advance which meant we couldn’t get reservations in either. Overall, I would highly recommend this property and would love to go back again.

I think that's what you call a view
We booked a staycation at this property and loved every minute. The layout of the house works perfectly - bedrooms downstairs, living space upstairs. The living area is enclosed by full length window on 3 sides, and a great wrap round balcony, both of which offer beautiful views over one of the many lakes. If you are looking for a quiet retreat or want to try Watersports, in a tranquil setting - this is the place to go. The house is very well equipped and modern, offering all the home comforts. To add to our week we had a restaurant on hand -and the wood smoked pizzas are to die for, a small shop, tennis courts, spa, swimming pool and childrens play area. Thank you very much for our week, it was lovely. See you soon!

Beautiful weekend break
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. The property itself has a wonderful view and was exceptionally clean. You can tell it's someone's holiday home as there are little touches everywhere which make your stay more enjoyable. The estate which the property is on is lovely and we enjoyed a couple of beautiful walks. The estate is very safe and quiet which suited us. There's a restaurant on site which looked lovely, but we didn't get around to trying. We'd love to visit the area again as there was so much to do.

Lovely property -
felt really modern and fresh. The surrounding lakes make a peaceful setting and the onsite facilities were exceptional - we had a great meal in the Ballihoo. Val and Paul were perfect hosts - champagne in the fridge, clear instructions on how to get to the house and what to do when we left.

Lovely house in a wonderful setting with great views.
Lots of comms from the owners to help arrive. Good work by the Estate team to manage in a Covid-19 secure way. Just be aware that if you are having to work whilst away that the WiFi/Internet is terrible and mobile phone reception not much better (I tried O2 and Vodafone Hotspots with very low bandwidth on both). Fine if you're able to have a proper escape ... not so good if you're having to work to pay for one of those!

Lovely stay in the Cotswolds
Beautiful, modern property, with stunning lake views from the living room area which featured an amazing wrap around balcony. The property was sparkling clean and there was even a bottle of bubbly waiting for us in the fridge. Lower Mill Estate itself is amazing and we used the swimming pool every day - at the moment you have to book a swimming slot online due to COVID. We actually preferred this as it meant the swimming pool never got busy. All in all, a lovely stay!

We had a great week staying here with our two boys. Onsite pool, restaurant and bike hire just made things really easy. The boys loved going out in the canoe and it’s great to be able to use that. House is really well equipped, very comfortable and has outstanding views out over the lake.

Great relaxing week!
We can’t say enough about how great our stay was at Nightingale House. The Lower Mill Estates is a great place for sightseeing, relaxing, and having fun with our children. The house itself is fitted with pretty much everything you could need for a trip to the countryside. The lower mill estate’s pools, tennis courts, hiking trails, wildlife, and pub are all you need for a relaxing stay, but from there we took short trips to Bath, Stonehenge, Sudeley Castle, and various other sites and pubs per suggestions from The owners. Val and Paul were also very responsive and kept in touch to make sure our stay was perfect. I would definitely recommend Nightingale House to anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay in the English countryside, and if we ever are looking for a place nearby again, we will look no further!

Lovely property. Real wow factor, wonderful location, spotlessly clean and lavishly equipped. Loads to do on site and in area. The canoe is a particular advantage, as are the bikes. Owners couldn’t have been more helpful. A great choice. Highly recommended.
