Well...the hotel is old we didn't have high expectations. They seemed to be under construction in some of the rooms. Would of been nice to know in advance. Continental breakfast is crappy. But there was a nice breakfast place across the street. The place has potential was probably really something back in the day.

I asked to see the room prior to getting a key. When I said I'd rather not stay, it was explained it was to late to cancel for a refund. Halls dirty and dark, ice machine STILL not repaired, no lounge as advertised, NO INTERNET as advertised, room not clean, pillows and under covers yellow, stained. TV did not work. Even when Expedia contacted the desk to request a refund, they refused. This should not be on the Expedia hotel list, it is not the typical hotel usually represented. FILTHY is not strong enough.

Hello Mitzi, I remember checking you and tending to you needs let me start with I have personally made sure all your needs were met! Yes when we checked you in the room we gave, the internet was not working because of the power outage and no you didn’t immediately came back to the desk requesting a refund it was approx two hours later and as we have clearly stated our policy about cancellation, and to resolve your problem while you were staying we gave you free upgraded room which was two bedroom apartment with working tv, ac, internet, clean sheets and towels and I moved you there after showing your husband the room and he agreed that this was an amazing place, I am sorry for the inconvenience that was caused by the change of rooms! But please always post the whole story mind this that this is a historic place so not everything will be new and we are trying our best to make sure all of your need were met and it definitely was by the 4 hour of you checking in which you were not at the property for two hours! So I hope you have a good day and will stop trying to destroy small businesses after getting a 100 dollar room when other hotels in the area are for 300 per night I hope you understand

After being assigned a room that had a padlock on it and another room that was not suitable for me, I went to another hotel. I would like a refund. The hotel is under remodeling and the pictures on the website had nothing to do with the conditions and the available rooms.

Check in was lengthy and uncomfortable as no A/C in lobby, They could not find my reservations, luckily I had printed out a copy of my prepaid itinerary receipt .Cold showers lumpy bed, steep stairways, no elevators, ice machines did not work,the place has deteriorated significantly since my last stay over five years ago. Trash piled up at exits building needs major renovations. Designated Boat trailer parking area not well marked to avoid blocking in by others and hookups to electricity to recharge boats not code compliant.and coming off the walls.

I went to check in after we flew in and nobody was at the desk I called and tried to email the hotel and they didn’t answer. I had to go book at another hotel because the receptionist wasn’t there to check us in and then they still tried to charge my card even though I didn’t stay there because they didn’t help to check me in

I did not like that the manager says that breaskfast was going to be at 6:30 and it was not. Also the rooms did not have a ramp for handycapped people or grap bars in the showers.

Bathroom was pitiful, Rusty shower head no stopper in the tub. Tub, toilet, light fixtures all have painted. Bed sheets were stained, sink was in the bedroom. Bathroom was terribly small. Curtains were see through. I feel the riom i was given should have been in service.

Smelled like bleach and the windows were sealed shut, very thin walls and doors along with a basketball hoop attached to one of my walls. AC unit sounded like a chainsaw but had to run it because again the windows were sealed. TV in the master didn't work neither did the living room outlets. Everything was "Historic" meaning old, unclean and not working, left one day early in frustration.

What a miserable way to do business!
Had to cancel my trip at the last minute, understanding I would be charged for one night. Instead, the manager charged me for an entire week! Several phone calls and emails, still no refund as promised. I was looking forward to rescheduling my trip to Clewiston, but I won't stay here. What a rip-off.

Curtains are mouldy. Bathtub and showerhead is rusty. Bathroom doorway about 20 inches wide and cannot shut door when on toilet. Can hear people talking in other rooms.

Never again! Dont stay here!!!
I enjoy historic hotels. This is by far the worst place ive stayed. Lobby area has lots of character. Nothing else positive to mention. The entire place has an awful moldy, rank odor. The mattress is way past its lifespan. Old dirty pillows. The bathroom is totally unacceptable. Slow drainage in the sink. I didnt use the tub, because I refuse to set foot in it. Rusty or missing fixtures. Dingy, cheap towels. Just horrible!! I really want my money back. Disgusting!!!

Very surprise. Authentic 1920s hotel reminded me a bit of the Everglades rod and gun club with all the period correct art and the cypress paneling. A real charmer. You are in Clewiston which is major agribusinesses trucks are simply a reality of the city and yes they seem to be nonstop but the place is so quaint and ahem affordable that it is a small price to pay for an authentic bit of early 20century floridas
