Premium property with spacious rooms, an ensuite with a corner bath and corner shower. Comfortable nights sleep in a quite rural location overlooking a lake.

Lovely hotel with gorgeous surroundings, lush breakfast views and plentiful food options including vegan. Wished we'd had time to dine for dinner as such a pretty dining area and location. Lovely spacious, comfortable and luxurious room! Bathroom could be updated a little but was fine and spacious, hot water took a while to heat up and fluctuated a bit. Only slight complaint was that the 2nd morning there was some gentle pop on at breakfast (Ed Sheeran and the like) but it had quite a beaty bass and as our room was just above the dining area we were woken up from 0730ish to the noise of the bass which confused us as it came through the floor as though we'd woken up above a club! So would recommend the alternative tranquil bossa nova-ey music at breakfast which we had the first morning which was lovely and made us feel like we were back on holiday abroad! Otherwise the location was so quiet and tranquil :) We didn't bring our EV but looked like there were chargers too.

The hotel is very clean and tidy, everything is as new and a high standard (e.g. new carpets, no dust or tired décor like the large chain hotels) . Bathroom clean modern, functional. Bed mattress was lovely and soft. Host was extremely welcoming and polite. Food was excellent. Not just a great stop-over during travels, but a hotel that I would come back to for a holiday also. Very convenient for M6 travels and north Cumbria holidays.

We stayed at Willowbeck Lodge for my 50th birthday, wow what an amazing place, staff very welcoming and polite, the rooms are clean spacious, bathroom was huge, we stayed in the oak room, beds very comfortable, breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, definitely be returning to Willowbeck, totally amazing place

Comfortable, warm, very welcoming. Superb bed. Well heated room with thermostat control so I could adjust it to my liking. Really clean, large shower. Lots of books to read. Excellent, extremely tasty breakfast. And the design of the property produces a wonderful dining area with fantastic views over the garden.

Great stay
We stayed for one night on the way home from Scotland. We were welcomed and checked in by a friendly lad, who showed us to our lovely room (the willow room), which is very spacious and has a really comfortable bed. The bathroom is huge too, with a separate bath and shower, and some lovely toiletries. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, very good quality food and service. The owner was friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

It was some time since I last visited Carlisle and I was pleased when the staff provided useful information which helped me focus on places to visit during my short stay. Willow Lodge has a quiet rural setting but with easy access to the City and the M6 moterway. The rooms are clean, comfortable and maintained to a very high standard.

I’m not normally a fan of B&Bs, but this property is excellent. This B&B is located in a very quiet, rural location with lots of chirping birds, trees and a small pond. It is a 10 minute drive back to the City Center, where there is a train station, historic sites & pubs. The owners are very nice, helpful and not nosey/intrusive (one of the reasons I don’t like B&Bs). Our room (Willow Room) was very large with a huge bathroom and separate soaking tub. Breakfast is available in the morning. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return.

Weekend break
Weekend break :- arrived late afternoon once I was able to locate owner and was shown room disappointed with size of room but slept in it for the few nights my partner and I were there very small have seen bigger dolls house Low roof caused problems when standing up and Going to bathroom thru the night banged my head several times don’t know how I didn’t suffer concussion due to the amount of head knocks Owners hosting skills very poor left to his staff to chat to customers on first night there we ate in the restaurant although food was cooked to perfection , portions were very small and 3 course meal was over priced.

Journey up north
On our way to Aberdeen, we made a stop over to spend a night.It was an amazing experience comfortable rooms, quiet place(just what we needed as we were very tired). Would definitely go back for a longer stay and explore more

excelle t place to stay, both handy for visiting Carlisle and touring Hadrians wall. Rooms were immaculate and the bistro which has just opened this season looks really good. Breakfast excellent and lovely hosts.

Only stayed one night but was very clean and comfortable, only thing we would say is that the rooms were very warm even though you could open the French doors you couldn't as the mossies from the pond would get in.

Fantastic Stay
Stopped off on the way up to Scotland as the pictures of the lodge looked amazing and is located very close to the M6. We were not disappointed, the lodge is located in a very secluded part of a nice village with fantastic grounds and huge bedrooms and en-suites where the owners could not do enough for you to make you welcome. Originally picked due to the proximity to the motorway but will definitely be staying again next time we fancy a weekend away in the Lake district or just stopping off for the evening.

Superlative accommodation in private setting
I stayed at Willowbeck Lodge the night before participating in an event in Carlisle called The Wall. The lodge is a well appointed building in private grounds complete with bridge and lake. Upon arrival the owner treated me to large G&T on the veranda and was patient enough to listen to my nervous banter about the day to come. Not only that the owner was good enough to rise in time to prepare breakfast at 0600 and drove me to the start line! All above an beyond what was expected.

Great Guest House - The Best
Last minute booking due to change of plans. The owners are the most accommodating people ih ave met. it was a pleasure to stay in a place that felt like home. i travel all the time and to stay somewhere that was of such a high standard and yet felt like home was excellent. Perfect break.
I received a warm welcome and although my room was described by the owner as being the smallest they have it was a good size with excellent en suite and was very comfortable. The location is just perfect with a view out onto trees and a large pond area. It is very peaceful and ideal for a base to do anything in this area. Despite the tranquility it is a stones throw from the motorway and Carlisle. I ate here both nights and along with breakfast found the food to be of a high quality. The owners though make this place even more special - attentive and can't do enough for you without being intrusive. As someone who usually goes for centrally located hotels, Willowbeck Lodge far exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate staying here again. I hope I will.

Probably the nicest place I have ever stayed.
A beautify decorated and maintained little hotel in a lovely place only a few minutes from the M6. The hosts are very friendly and obliging people and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. They even drove me to a local restaurant in the evening. All rounded of with a lovely breakfast on the morning of departure. Perfect.

Great stay!
This was a last minute booking for us, so we were unsure of what to expect. It turns out it was a fantastic cottage, nestled in a gorgeous setting. If we are ever back in the area, we will be sure to stay there again!

Amazing!
We think about opening a B&B often and if we did, this is the way we would do it. Wonderful location, wonderful family who really took care of us. Pampered us and fed us and were really amazing. We had spent the day traveling and sitting in traffic in the northern UK and when we arrived (late) they really made an extra effort to help us feel comfortable and to help us rest and relax. Loved the food and the atmosphere, you could really tell the property was loved on and taken care of. And the whole property inside and out is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Would highly recommend!
